This Weekends Fights
This Weekends Fights
Alot going on next wkend.
Thurman and Bradley will handle Bundu and Chaves. Lara will win a snoozer against Ishe.
This leaves us with Korobov-Lee and the main course, Khan-Alexander.
I reckon Korobov handles Lee without too many issues.
The only truly curious and unknown fight result is probably Khan-Alexander. I'm expecting Khan to take it on pts but at least we have one fight where the outcome is in real question.

Re: This Weekends Fights
I think Ishe Smith is going to be more problematic for Lara than most of the public does. Anybody with decent power makes Lara not look himself. Combined with the sketchy judging and officiciating in Texas I won't be surprised if something bizarre happens.
Thurman might struggle with Bundu for a few of the early rounds. Then he will put a pounding on Bundu in the later rounds, won't be completely shocked if Bundu makes the final bell.

Re: This Weekends Fights
I admit I have not watched much of Ishe Smith, but from what I recall in the K9 fight he rocked him a few times. I know Ishe is no James Kirkland but he can't be as pillow-fisted as Austin Trout.diddy wrote:Ishe Smith has decent power?hulkmaniac wrote:I think Ishe Smith is going to be more problematic for Lara than most of the public does. Re: This Weekends Fights
Let me inform you that he has zero power.
Re: This Weekends Fights
It actually starts on Thursday with Fedor Chudinov (11(9)-0) facing an Aussie, Ben McCulloch (14(11)-0) for an interim SMW title. Should be fun.
Re: This Weekends Fights
Last time out Chaves looked impressive against Rios.
Re: This Weekends Fights
It starts with an ESPN boxing show tomorrow with Johnathon Banks vs Antonio Tarver.
Then there is a boxing show in Chicago on Friday with Jordan Shimmell vs Phil Williams in a 10 round cruiserweight bout.

Not seen much of Chaves but i hope action Bradley shows up. Runner Bradley is much harder to beat, but come forward Bradley makes for 1 hell of a fight.
Lara will stop Smith late.
I think Lee got lucky last time out, he was hurt and credit to him for finding a sensational 1pko, but lightning doesn't strike twice. Korobov KO.
Khan vs Alexander is interesting. I think Alexander has the accuracy, and suspect will have trained in the gym for power. My gut feeling is he hurts Khan late and has the pin point precision to land clean enough to get the finish.

Re: This Weekends Fights
I think Khan will beat Alexander with ease, 9-3 in rounds perhaps.
I am interested to see how impressive Thurman will look. Bundu is a good operator, so it should be a good fight. I think Korobov will KO Lee.

Re: This Weekends Fights
Amir Khan is absurdly overrated by some people. If Alexander is at his best, and I think he will be, he'll stop Khan. With the betting odds being what they are right now, it's probably a smart move to put some money on Alexander.
Thurman will beat Bundu, probably by late TKO, but it won't be easy.
Korobov will likely stop Lee in a middle round, but Lee can hit very hard and so is a live underdog with a punchers' chance.
Lara should beat Smith by a wide or dominant UD.
Bradley will have no problem beating Chaves by a dominant UD.

Re: This Weekends Fights
Learn something new everyday. Ishe has power
I'm hoping more than thinking Amir will lose. I'm kinda tired of his bs. Having said that its obviously more interesting if Amir wins. Devon is a more boring version of Tim Bradley personality wise & thats saying something.
I feel like Amir is the more well rounded guy. If Devon had some pop I'd be leaning more towards him, but I don't think Devon is superior to Amir in boxing skills & Amir gots a speed advantage here that I think could be the deciding factor so idk what exactly Devon does that would have me thinking he's a favorite. Amir wins a decision. Maybe 116-112, 8 rounds to 4 rounds.

Khan close UD
Lara wide UD
Bradley wide UD
Korobov late KO/UD
Thurman KO mid

Re: This Weekends Fights
I agree with this prediction. I think that under Hunter's influence, Khan will fight similarly to Ward: score using his speed advantage and immediately clinch. It will be hard to watch.diddy wrote:Khan close UD

Re: This Weekends Fights
Chudinov won by 2nd round KO. His opponent decided to trade with him and was crushed ending face down on canvas and could not get up for quite a long time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0o1lgTnZ-A
Ustinov defeated Welliver by dominant UD.

I hope Bradley puts up not just a good performance but also a more entertaining than the common.
And as for Khan-Alexander, I'm going with Alexander via clear close decision.

Re: This Weekends Fights
Well we got what we expected except for Lee rescuing another loss with 1 big shot.
Khan, Thurman won clear. Bradley as well.
