Sky Ringside team = Spineless
pudenda didn't critisize Rickys next opponent at all. All we got was the usual bullshit about Frank promising a big name next time (just like he did in Rickys last fight) and Ricky needing to step it up (they said it timidly like sheep). They wouldn't stand for this in the US, someone like Merchant would be getting into the promoter for this shit that the viewers are being fed. Spineless bastards. Why are they afraid to open their mouths, its the truth.
Then they mention a big fight next time and then mention Spadafora, he's a fornicating lightweight and a light punching one at that!!!. It the least risk that Ricky could possibly take. Since when is Spadafora a top ten fighter at this weight anyway? Do the guys on Ringside think the viewers are fornicating stupid?

Nah, Ricky's fans will just love it.Lefthookhappy19 wrote:This guy just seemed to give up against Mitchell as well in the fight I seen of him after blowing his load early. If this guy stays down after an early knockdown Frank and Ricky might get pelted with rubbish. I hope it does happen like that.

yeah i notice they dropped spaddy's name in there a few times.
i'm not quite so down on that fight than some of u on here.
but i agree there's better out there. for example vivian harris who's the wba champ, and the wba r likely to strip zoo if he goes ahead with the mitchell fight so it makes so much sense.

My main anger with the Spadafora fight is he's a light punching lightweight who's never actually beaten anyone himself, its about the least risk that could be possibly be taken. I mean where's the threat, their is none. No threat = no excitment. So what if he's blows Spadafora out early? He's just another lightweight, thats what people will say and its the truth, an overrated lightweight at that.
I am getting frustrated with the opponents of Hatton now. After he dismantles a fighter who has no right being in the ring with him anyway I eagerly await the announcement of a mega test for Hatton but the announcement comes and it turns out to be a let down alot of the time. Witter or NDou would do nicely for me now

Spadafora is not a credible opponent.
Ricky should be fighting top 140lb guys, not former 135lb champions who are mentally unstable and awaiting trial for attempted murder.
The matches being made for Ricky Hatton are sub-standard.
It appeared that the SKY team are afraid of criticizing Warren. Sure, Warren has helped make Ricky money, but it is becoming clear that Warren cannot make the matches with legitimate title holders at 140lb.
It appears Warren is lacking something when trying to make the big matches. If he is trying at all.
What does Hatton get paid for fighting these patsies?
I heard it was 250k. If this is true, I reckon the BBC can and would pay him this and maybe a bit more.
If this carries on, Hattons first big fight will come when he's washed up.
THERE ARE OTHER PROMOTERS OUT THERE WHO CAN DELIVER THE MATCHES YOU WANT RICKY

I thought it was funny. Shots of Mayweather in action, Tszyu with all his belts, Mitchell looking fierce, Gatti in full flow, then sticking Spadafora on the end on a ring walk because there was no impressive footage of him. It was so blatant it's not true. Like a 6-year-old's version of an odd-one-out game.

Spadafora ...please... another dangerous opponent for Hatton. I am really beginning to doubt Ricky's hunger now. He says all the right things but then goes and does exactly what Uncle Frwank tells him. RICKY CAN YOU NOT SEE WHAT DAMAGE YOUR PROMOTER IS DOING TO YOUR CAREER ! As for the Car Park Attendant Nicky Piper, he's saying exactly what the Board have warned him to say. Would they be hauling Lennox, Calzaghe or indeed Hatton over the coals for speaking out over an obviously BENT ref ?

On 80 grand a year, the panellists are going to sit there and think of the money. There's no-one there willing to call Hatton-Vilches as it is: an insult to knowledgeable boxing fans such as ourselves.
allegedly fails to agree terms for a Ricky Hatton-Sharmba Mitchell fight, so what does he do? Bring in a man Mitchell destroyed in four rounds last year.

They should put someone like Tyson on the panel. He'd put the viewers right.bennie wrote:On 80 grand a year, the panellists are going to sit there and think of the money. There's no-one there willing to call Hatton-Vilches as it is: an insult to knowledgeable boxing fans such as ourselves.

He'd just say the guy is fighting guys who cant fight and that the shaftees should shaft the shaftors.
Spadafora is a good match and shouldn't be criticised. Spadafora's success has come from his technical ability...Ricky hasn';t fought someone as good as Spaddy technically. o he could learn a thing or two.
But Spadafora isn't too dangerous, as he carries no power, is naturally smaller (although he always found it hard to get his tall frame to 135) and can be hurt. Hatton should be able to look spectacular.
I think if Hatton beats Spaddy he gets a lot more recognition, but it is still a level below the likes of Mitchell, Tszyu and Cotto. But a good inbetween.

Yes, but any talk of this being a superfight is bollocks, Spadafora is a world-class but not top-dog lightweight, with no power and he is about to be tried for murder, hardly a man with his mind focussed is he.
It's a good in-between, but what kind of shape mental and physical is Spadafora going to be in come fight night?
There's a way to go yet before Hatton can silence the knockers.

but i think Spadafora is genuine top 10, and a really impressive performance will prove something to an extent....but yes, you have to consider Spaddy's mental state, and even physical if he can make the 140 comfortably he may take liberties. I guess we have to assess spadafora on the night....but it sounds like Hatton cynics have already got something lined up even if he does look impressive.
talk of Vivian Harris as well...i consider this less likely...that would be a more dangerous fight, although a genuine world title would be at stake.

Spaddy may be top ten Adam, but I think most of us agree Spaddy would be the most comfortable fight out there for Hatton (top ten wise) Spaddy has had one fight at Light Welter.
I think that's what grates the most. A lot of us believe Hatton has the ability, but this continued (very) selective match making does get tiresome.
A Harris fight would be great, and not only that, it gives Hatton the chance to fight for a 'proper' title. As it is, fighting Spaddy means we will be going into yet another year not really knowing what the future holds for Hatton.
