Showtime sucks

Post by Ricky_ »

It seems like they invest more in the promotion of cards, but it's actual production just seems like a cheap version of what HBO has established in every way. The "all access" is embarrassing compared to the production quality of 24/7. In Jim Gray they even managed to find a guy worse than an 120 year old Larry Merchant and more wooden than Max Kellerman. HBO > Showtime.

Went to my daughters house. Showtime does suck. Shitty fights and Steve Farhood looks like my ex-bro in law which ain't a good thing

Showtime is putting on a lot of very predictable matchups.

Boxing is more enjoyable for me to watch when I don't know for sure who is going to win.

And I agree, Steve Farhood is awful. He has an poor voice and personality for a sports commentator.

Showtime is UNBEARABLE. Shitty cards and shitty broadcast.

I hate that play by play guy with the over the top fake announcer voice.

Paulie the clown, who hates Manny Pacquiao and bases his "professional" opinions on that hatred.

Al Bernstein is the only voice of reason on that whole mickey mouse operation.

I couldn't stand Mauro Ranallo when he was doing MMA with that Fight Professor loon. Now I don't mind him since anyone is a step above effing Gus Johnson.

I also believe HBO has a better production, but I guess that all hinges on Jim Lampley. Which is weird, because Lampley seems like a egotistical douche and prick. But I do think Paulie is better than Roy. And Al Bernstein is a better analyst than Max Kellerman. And I enjoy Steve Farhood.....he is very knowledgeable and has better scorecards than Harold Ledderman. I guess I don't mind his pubes on his head. But Lampley has that voice that brings excitement and drama.

I haven't watched 24/7 or All Access in a year. Thought it was cool at first, but now it's the same old shit every show.

I actually think the Showtime crew is superior to the HBO crew. I used to hate Mauro as an MMA announcer but he seems to have toned down his shtick since moving to boxing and having to work with actual professionals. It's not like Lampley is any better. He is a total blowhard who clearly loves the sound of his own voice. Paulie is better than RJJ as well. Roy doesn't sound like he's listening to himself half the time, he uses a lot of tautologies and cliches and generally seems to spout a lot of nonsense.

I do like Kellerman but Bernstein is probably the GOAT color commentator. Farhood and Lederman are pretty much a wash for me.
