Re: davie drummond
He got a phonecall couple o wks ago, didn't want to say anything til papers were signed, went down south this morning and done the deal, im not sure the ins and outs, will probably see him tomorrow, great news for him tho hopefully get some ring time shortly
Re: davie drummond
One thing that Carl can do is get him fights. Hopefully see him in the ring soon. I think most will be on the road but I think that's exactly what Davie needs.

Re: davie drummond
Great news for Davie, signing with Gilmour was getting him nowhere,he needs to be fighting, hopefully he can kick on from here
Re: davie drummond
Still going no where, just my opinion. Tommy didn't do enything for a reason, Carl is well known for using his experience using jorneny men. Why go with an English manager/ promoter.????? Makes no sense. Sell tickets, build fans, get titles shots.. That's the game. Get out, for wit u put in. This is a bad move.
Re: davie drummond
Davie obviously wants to make a bit of money, that's way it comes over, and fair play and he'll be a dangerous journeymen of that's path he chooses as he can whack a bit, unfortunately not easy to build a fan base, dundee is more a casual fan kinda place where it's a different clientele each fight with no fans really take a intrest in the shows and only there for 1 fight, which is fair enough as my expierence of scottish shows undercards arnt too good including the tv ones which are usually worse, for myself Iv always watched boxing and when ronnie came into it, then understood the ins and outs a bit more and try explain more to 1st time fans why there friend, brother or whatever is fighting someone who is not fighting back and has so many losses! All the dundee boxers are talented and for me can do very well

Re: davie drummond
Got to be a good move, Davies career as a pro was practically over a wee while ago, now hes gonna get a chance to get back in the ring and show what he can do, and he knows himself this his last chance, I know for a fact hes gonna be going into the new year fresh start and ready to give it his all
Re: davie drummond
So is he going on the road as opponent then?never seen him but I know he has kind of had a few scheduled fights that didn't go ahead
Re: davie drummond
Can't imagine hell be on dundee show unless he's fighting one of the saltire fighters if they have a light heavyweight, I always seen Davie as a risk/reward fighter, he's dangerous to anyone and can really bang, lots of people see the risk outweighing the reward, hope he can get on the road and cause a few upsets and quite frankly make a bit of cash and exposure, lives for boxing and deserves to show people what he can do

Re: davie drummond
Well said Davie, all you want to do is fight and with Carl Greaves you will get that, the last 18 months or so are in the past and at least now you can get cracking,Ronnie Clark has been through all this too and now he's getting oppurtunities and breaking into the top 10,and I'm certain if you get the chance you'll take it,just keep plugging away, keep training and your time will come,Davie Drummond wrote:Champ1982 u can keep your opinions to yourself how's this a bad move? Re: davie drummond
To be fair Davie Anything you do is a bonus, you already done a job in amateurs and being from dundee does not help where we have no promotors, no shows and not a massive fan base for boxing with 4 fighters who all have a lot of mutual ticket sales, keep the head up, go on the road and don't leave it to the judges, don't let champ 1982 have any impact, you know script on how the career has been a slow burner, the politics are poo and any non dilusional person can see that,

Cheers jamieM yeh I should have had a lot more fights by now but it has been so hard nothing happening the past 2 year but keeping my head down we training and wait for my opportunity that will come and will show people what I can do!
Re: davie drummond
I'm one off the busiest promoters in the country with one of the biggest stables got a good reputation for building fighters and also taking lads on the road most go for the win journeyman will soon be a thing of the past that's the way the games changing. As for David he's 32 with good amateur pedigree but not been active he just wants to fight but will probably be hard to match to start with and if or when he starts causing a few upsets will probably be even harder to match so I'm just gonna play it by here he seems a really nice bloke and I will work hard to get him opportunitys.Champ1982 wrote:Still going no where, just my opinion. Davie I wouldn't worry about what Garry is saying. He's just jealous mate. Seems to have a problem with guys from Dundee that's you and Ronnie he has now had digs at you. I was going to say maybe it is because he is a has been. Oops sorry got that wrong never has been. I'm glad when any fighter gets a chance to fight more regular especially when they are from Dundee. I'm sure the hard work will pay off and we will see some good fights this year. Garry serious question why do you call yourself Champ1982? Glad your a better Taxi Driver than you were boxerDavie Drummond wrote:Champ1982 u can keep your opinions to yourself how's this a bad move? What your sayin makes no sense more like? Re: davie drummond
Think your a bit harsh on Gary there Dave, he won the Scottish title would have won prizefighter had it not been for a cut. Different style of fighter to Ronnie but has achieved equal if not more in his career.
I think Ronnie needs to get a couple of wins against journeymen then go for the Scottish LW title, IMO making SFW weakens him, no point having a size advantage if you can't utilise it is there?
Some good fights for Ronnie at that weight Jordan McCrory, Ally Black to mention a couple

Re: davie drummond
not many stop moses mate u must hav a fair old whack
Re: davie drummond
Billy agreed Ronnie has achieved about the same as Garry in boxing so far. If a super feather would have fought him he would of won the Scottish Title. As for fighting at Super Feather weakening him. Your wrong there he is a absolute beast at the weight. In his 2 loses both fighters would not come forward. They were worried about his power and both ran. In Troys case it worked better. Ronnie's lack of experience showed in my opinion he is still quite new in boxing. He never let enough punches go if he did he would of won wide on the scorecards. He lost a tight split decision away from home again a guy who gave Flannagan problems. As for Evans he was on the ropes the whole fight. That's not Evans style he's aggressive. Ronnie is a huge super feather and should stay there he makes it easily. We could easily be sitting here right now talking about Ronnie still being undefeated if he had the backing of one of the big promoters and he has fought 3 of the best fighters in Britain at Super Feather and 1 who is maybe the best at feather. If Ronnie can get a fair crack of the whip this year he will win titles. As for my comments about Garry. I think the lad was a very good technical boxer if he had power he would of done really well. He should be coming on encouraging Scottish boxers not Downing them. Finally Ronnie fighting Jordan or Ally. Do you really think either are ready to fight Ronnie. Jordan is another very good boxer but from what I have seen would struggle against Ronnie. I have only seen a little of Ally but he looks very raw and he was over 140lbsbilly nelson wrote:Think your a bit harsh on Gary there Dave, he won the Scottish title would have won prizefighter had it not been for a cut. Ally will fight at 135 from now on hes training hard and full time and will do the weight no bother, purely has his coach I'd put ally in with Jordan and Ronnie tomorrow I think he'd stop bothdaviddee wrote:Billy agreed Ronnie has achieved about the same as Garry in boxing so far. Re: davie drummond
So realistically your saying ronnie should do lightweight as yo want the scottish title fight with him Nd ally, speak to Tommy and ask?? Ronnie would not worry about ally, said he was good in sparring to me but also stated he was very crap and had one of those days and doesn't judge it by sparring, I never did understand where people say o he'd stop him about a fighter who's never been stopped or even down before, I'm guessing you have some inside knowledge here ha, fair enough backing youran same as we do, contact Tommy and ask for the fight,
Either his team will want it or not, I'm sure Davie will be on here soon enough, he was right on another thread when you were plotting for it ha

These constant Ronnie the Shark threads where family take on the Scottish boxing establishment is always a bigger soap opera
than 'Take the High Road' Now, in this kind of debate - twitter would really be more suitable.
