Mayweather-Cotto II

Post by crusader »

Dan Rafael has said that he believes this will be Floyd's next fight, and he just tweeted that there is "Extremely strong chatter than (sic) Mayweather-Cotto 2 is imminent".

It's not a fight that I want to see. I've seen it before, Mayweather won clearly, it was decent but not particularly entertaining, and a MW title being involved isn't something I care about much.

I hope they don't fight again. Its not like the first one was super close. I can see Floyd wanting to hold three belts at one time, but we all know that would be a joke. I even look at Cotto as somewhat as a paper champ at 160.

Either fight at the weight limit, or don't fight. All this catch weight bs makes boxing look bad. Floyd getting a 160 belt would be as much of a joke as SRL getting a 175 belt fighting D. LaLonde.

If not Pacquiao, Floyd should fight Brook or Khan, or retire.

First of all Cotto shown me little to make me believe he can improve on the last. Then:

Maywhether vs Pacquiao is a better fight
Cotto v Canelo is a better fight
Maywhether vs Khan is a better fight
Cotto v GGG is a better fight
Maywhether vs Thurman/Brook/Porter/Bradley is a better fight
Cotto v Lara/Lee/Andrade/ is a better fight

Have a left something out?

Floyd should make it a fan poll..."Who should I fight next? Pacquiao or Cotto"

Of course Pacquiao wins the poll but then TBE picks Cotto and announces it during the Superbowl

as i expected, i knew this was coming.

Mayweather is doing to Pacquiao what Cotto did to Canelo.

Pacquiao has already come out and said there is a "End of the Month" deadline and after that he is moving on.

Al Haymon must be whispering in Floyds ear and its been reported that he reached out to Cotto's manager. Floyd in a moment of temporary insanity came out and said he wanted to fight Pacquiao but he's getting cold feet.....or should I say...webbed feet LOL

I was actually thinking maybe he should rematch Arturo Gatti or Diego Corrales. Like, what's the point of this fight?

It's not to dis Cotto's effort in the first fight, but a rematch is an utter waste of everybody's time.

if floyd goes to middleweight to fight a bulked up middleweight champ cotto, than yes. but at 154, why? mayweather beat him, why than a rematch, it is not like cotto knocked him down or was very close to winning. cotto had some good rounds, won like 3-4, but 3-4 is not enough for a rematch, unless you knocked down your opponent or realy looked spectacular by times.

I'm guessing this will be at 155lb so Floyd can pick up the Middleweight title.... I'm sure Cotto is being well compensated for the sale of his belt. Terrible fight.

It was 4-5 years too late the first time. This surely won't happen.

So who is this deadline for? Manny? Because Pacquiao cannot dictate a deadline to an "A" side opponent, maybe it is the deadline that Arum has set for Manny who has not signed a contract yet either.

The deadline is for Floyd to sign off on the fight. The Showtime-HBO negotiations SHOULD be done by then.

I like the fight. The first was much closer than people seem to remember. Floyd did a whole lot of nothing in that fight, and couldn't get off the ropes. Sure not as bad as Maidana 1, but Cotto is a world class operator and has had success in fight 1 to feed off. A rematch would produce some very tight scorecards.

First Maidana now Cotto, what is it with Mayweather giving rematches to men he clearly beat?

I'm sure Alvarez will get his rematch before Floyd hangs the gloves up

Brut, the only guy who has always had the choice to do what he wants is Floyd. His choice has been pretty clear, for years now.... Feel sorry for the blind folks, they can convince themselves of anything.

BS, it isn't as simple as you are making it sound. HBO and Showtime hasn't reached an agreement yet so there's no way that even if Mayweather wanted it to happen that he could make those networks agree.

You always write stupid sh*t to somehow try and justify your idiotic belief that Floyd is scared of Manny.

So Manny can fight Marquez 4 times and nothing is stated, he can fight Bradley twice and nothing is said SRL fought Hearns how many times?? La Motta fought SRR how many times?? 6?

Wow the misplaced Hate is staggering on this forum. The Double Standard is always in effect towards Floyd.
