Where's Haye?

Post by deadpan »

Any news? Is he coming back? He must fancy his chances against Wilder's arcing swings.

He said he was going to be busy at the back end of last year on a few misMatchroom shows then nothing...

Maybe his injury isn't fixing, maybe he's plotting a route, maybe he just can't really be arsed. He appears happy jet-setting.

I think given what he has said, if we were going to see a comeback it would have happened by now.

It's a shame from a boxing point of view as he is an exciting fighter but I wont lose too much sleep given his antics.

I don't have Twitter, last photo of him I saw he looked puffy in the face and out of shape, the one before that he looked quite light. Do you have a link to his latest photos please?

In terms of him being in shape he looks massive, pure muscle. His upper and lower arms as well as his shoulders look a lot bigger than I have seen before.

Hopefully that link works to a picture of him in November.

He does look bigger.

His shoulder injury hasn't stopped him from weight training, that's for sure. :o

Thanks, I hadn't seen that picture before. He has packed on some serious size you're right.

I'd still like him to fight Fury. He can pack on as much muscle as he wants however he wants and he'll still look small next to Fury - a natural giant. It would be a brilliant match.

I can't see him coming back for anything more than a 1 off big money fight. He said he was going to work his way up the ladder then posted dates until the end of feb of his guest appearances at vip dinners all around the country.

Can that much bulk and muscle be put on naturally?

His physique looks fairly abnormal, or at least not that of a professional boxer. Speaking only in the aesthetic, the first thing I thought was those later images of Tommy Morrison.

I was a big Haye fan but he's become a complete joker over the last two or three years - I'm no longer interested in his BS and certainly wouldn't risk forking out on tickets or anything if he announced
a fight.

Oh great. A bulky freak with no mobility or speed. He's going to just tear through the scene...

Sadly you are spot on.

It's a real shame, as Haye has gone from potential HW saviour to a complete joke.

It's partly because of him that I refuse to buy PPV anymore (he might have done me a favour there   ) & I will never buy tickets to watch him live ever again.

You said he was earning a fortune from it. He isnt. He's paid a fixed fee per show by the Promoter. He has no say whatsoever on ticket prices.

In my opinion Haye has no intention of fighting again. He knows as soon as he announces his retirement, his marketability will go down. Therefore he won't be able to sell his merchandise, including calendars etc, and will his dinner and appearance dates be as popular?

The man has lost all his credibility and has no respect for his actual boxing fans!!

Who would buy a David Haye calendar? I wonder how many he shifts.
