Glazkov: How many gifts can one guy get?

Post by jujigatame »

What is that, 3 or 4 awful decisions for this guy now? Can we just throw him in against Wlad to be destroyed already? Hell we don't even need Wlad. Fury, Wilder, even Pulev and Povetkin would wreck this guy.

It makes sense given the match-up. They matched-up a guy who is always doing the robbing vs a guy who is always getting robbed. Glazkov was holding a huge robbery differential over Cunningham. Knowledgeable boxing fans, assuming they still exist, will probably remember that Cunningham was robbed against Krzysztof Wlodarczyk in their first fight, as well as robbed by Tomasz Adamek in their rematch.

Would there be so much whining if Glazkov was American and his opponent was a foreigner ? It was a close fight. Knowing that judges don't like his style, Cunningham needed to do more to get a win.

I have no bias towards American fighters. I am a big fan of Wlad and Kovalev. Glazkov sucks and has benefited from multiple dubious decisions.

I could have accepted a draw since Glazkov came on late but 116-112 Glazkov from 2 judges is indefensible, IMO. I have no idea what they were watching.

Cunningham sucks at HW too. It was an even fight of two B level heavyweights who have no business on top of the division.

I thought Glazkov/Cunningham was a draw, but I'd give the edge to Cunningham. The 116-112 double score was off, IMO. I thought USS faded in the second half of the fight, helping Glazkov close it out. Either way, it was a boring fight and neither guy is that good at HW honestly.

At the end of the 12 rounds, I had friends in the room with me congratulating me on wisely betting on Cunningham. I was pacing around, shaking my head and telling them how I was about to get fvcked, but they couldn't understand my dismay until the decision was rendered. Cunningham deserved that one, but I thought he'd be able to outbox Glazkov more decisively. His stamina let him down a bit as he couldn't keep the movement up that he used so well in the early rounds.

I think I got him tied with Jessie Vargas now. Whoever gets the next bogus decision between them should get a belt made to look like a giant bow.

I don't think he got a gift against Rossy but he was fortunate not to lose to Scott and USS.

Awful fight I watched it from start to finish and still didn't have a clue who won, everything dissapeared from memory as soon as it went in

Cunningham does deserve some credit though for his physique :salut:
