I wouldn't be remotely shocked if Khan beat Cotto. Did you see how throughly Trout beat him?

You know, I like Cotto, but thinking about it, it's a great pick for Khan. I can see him beating him quite convincingly on points.

What a world we may be living in, Khan the lineal middleweight champion. :KO:

He said on SKY Sports News it would be at catch weight. Management teams are discussing terms in view of announcing the fight in the next 2 weeks, if a deal can be agreed.

If it's not 160 or above no MW title. Not sure why the fight is worth it otherwise. Other than it keep Khan from fighting top 147ers.

Oh dear.

When Khan wins this one how long before the call goes out for him to fight GGG? Khan isn't a middleweight and shouldn't go anywhere near the division. I'm not a fan of khan and as much as I'm happy to see him lose a potential battering by a fresher, real middleweight isn't a prospect I'm interested in.

If it goes above 160 it would be a SMW fight, they could agree anything above 154lbs.

Cotto was a small lightmiddleweight never mind middleweight. There won't be much difference in size between these two fighters who should both be fighting at welterweight.

Pretty crazy to think two welterweights will be contesting the lineal middleweight title. I would imagine they'll make the fight at 154lbs. Khan's in-ring weight for Alexander was 160lbs.

Cotto is a big name - sadly it's all about increasingly your marketability.

Bar Pacquaio and Mayweather, Cotto is the biggest name for him to fight around welterweight. If he beats Cotto, he'll be worth far more in terms of earning potential and marketability than a win over, say a Thurman or Garcia.

With fights like this happening over Khan Brook and fights like Garcia Peterson not even being for the belts, it makes you wonder is there any point in having belts at all!

This really is nuts but I genuinely believe this fight makes more sense for Khan. I aint crazt and I dont particularly like Khan but I believe it is a very winnable fight for him. More reward with less risk to some of the names mentioned above.

I'd like to see this fight. I wouldn't be surprised whatever the outcome, one of they fights. I'd lean slightly towards Khan getting the win but I'd be rooting for Cotto. That being said, this fight shouldn't be for the title. Cotto should be stripped if this goes ahead.

And of course you are correct.

I should post less after the pub. I'll put it down to the shock of the thought of Amir Khan being the lineal middleweight champion.

It won't happen. I would certainly be interested if it did though!

Khan just throwing names out there like he usually does. Keeping himself in the discussion.
Mayweather - Manny and the obvious rematch that it will bring has srt of buggered Amirs plans. He might actually have to take what he sees as a high risk/low reward fight. It's a problem brought about by him seeing himself as a truly elite level fighter which he isn't.

I'd imagine Dany Garcia would gladly fight him again. Never understood why Khan never went back there? What's his reasoning for that one?

Khan's clearly levels above Prescott these days but that fight could've happened when Amir was having one of his increasingly regular holidays, just to keep him ticking over and put some ghosts to bed

Khans not won a title at welter yet. He could beat cotto, step down and beat bradley. Then step into his natural welter divison to be the first Brit to be a 4 weight champ. Has any other dome this?

duke McKenzie won world titles at 3 weights and unsuccessfully tried for a 4th so would be a british record if khan pulled it off.

What a fight this would be,Cotto has size and power to hurt Khan but has he still got enough to pull the trigger against someone as fast as Amir?

He's been looking great since teaming up with Freddie but Rodriguez was out of his depth and Martinez looked finished from the opening bell, but take nothing away from Miguel he looked explosive in they wins but he did look poo against Trout and if Khan can stay switched on like he did against Alexander I would give him a chance but Cotto is/was a monster and if he can pin Khan down I'm sure he'd be too strong for him
