MAYWEATHER

Post by Sweyn11 »

I have probably missed many boats on this one, but is anyone really even slightly excited about Mayweather v Pacquiao?
Has everyone forgotten that latter was badly knocked out by Marquez (or that he didn't really win any of the fights against Marquez)?
He hasn't won inside the distance since he beat the shell of what used to be Ricky Hatton.
It's a non-fight; a bleeding, confused and thoroughly beaten Pacquiao will be retired after 7-8 rounds.

I see that Khan has, shockingly (lol), turned down a puncher so he can face the very REAL challenge of Chris Algieri.
Having said that, I am sticking 200 on Algieri as Khan's chin is so suspect.
Khan is punchy, washed-up and never was any good anyway.
Heaven's sake! He won a SILVER medal at the worst Olympic Boxing Competition ever.

Poor old Luke Campbell; we never hear anything about him. Wonder WHY (lol).

Still have copy of "The Gifted One" for sale btw. £200 ono.

Miguel Cotto was after Hatton, wasn't it? I see your point, though. I'm not remotely as excited as I would have been five years ago.

It's seven years in December since Pacquiao beat ODH! :o

This fight has some obvious downfalls due to their age. The contrast in styles makes is exciting I think. Neither guy has faced a guy with the skills they are tonight. Mayweather is the favorite, and should be even at 38 yrs old. Pacquiao brings speed, power, and unpredictability though. I think the fight tonight will have more action in the first 5 rounds than many expect. I expect Floyd to win, but know it isn't going to be an easy fight.
