Garcia v Peterson
Garcia v Peterson
On BN they are chanting a bad decision but I can't really complain to be honest! I had Peterson winning but it was open to interpretation! Will need to watch it again! Can't help but like Peterson though.
Re: Garcia v Peterson
For me 114 114 was a great call.
Re: Garcia v Peterson
This is the second fight Danny's lost on my card but it was very close.
I also can't stand how certain people seem think that someone automatically shouldn't win a fight if they move regularly or 'run', as if that should be the only consideration in scoring.

Great point mate ..... the same when they say that ohhhh these judges like aggression,...... you can swing your pants off, you won't win, (or shouldn't).crusader wrote:This is the second fight Danny's lost on my card but it was very close.

Peterson doesn't really deserve to squeak a close one does he.
He used up his get out of jail free cards in the Khan fight.

Garcia won this fight. A few flashy punches from Peterson and the eye catching shuffles are not enough to win a contest, it's about scoring shots.
Peterson might as well have entered a marathon race for the first three / four rounds, barely landed anything did nothing but run around the ring. Yes it looks great to the eye ............ but he scored with what?
After that for all his come forward aggression most of the scoring shots and the volume of scoring punches came mostly from Garcia.

Re: Garcia v Peterson
Compared to most I'm way off,I had Garcia winning easy 117-111,Peterson finished well and Danny looked like he was struggling at the end but Lamont did nothing but run for the first 6 rounds,if your gonna be constantly on the move the way Peterson was then you've got to throw punches, he did a good job of making Garcia miss but he was too negative to win rounds,Peterson's punch output must have been nil in the first 6 rounds,I like fighters who can dominate on the back foot but they need to throw solid bursts to keep themselves in the fight or the aggressor will usually get the nod for pressing the action
Good second half though

I had it 115-115 but a couple of the early rounds could of went either way. Turned out a decent fight to watch would of been interesting if peterson went forward earlier garcia looked tired towards the end
Re: Garcia v Peterson
Khan has got to be looking at fighting either of these next.
A great chance to avenge a loss and both are significantly more credible than Algieri.

Garcia by 1 maybe 2 rounds, Peterson made Garcia miss a lot, but for me was not landing enough himself.
Petersons movement has improved a lot it seems, but was still edged in the exchanges for my money.

I thought Peterson was making Danny miss quite easily and just as simply moving frequently and being 'negative' doesn't win fights neither does following someone around. To me Peterson looked like he was the one dictating the pace even though he was moving back and I thought he frustrated Garcia and scored with the jab well enough to take some of the rounds over the first half, which combined with his later surge were enough for him to edge it.Ian1973 wrote:crusader wrote:This is the second fight Danny's lost on my card but it was very close.
