Cheers for posting the vid link. Chavez Jr was always going to be an easy fight for Froch - to be frank, he's always been crap, just got away with it for so long due to coming in so much heavier than his opponents. I'd say that particular cash-cow has been well & truly milked; wouldn't be surprised if we never see him in the ring again.

Yeah that was odd. In the background you can see his corner looking at him bemused like he's totally mad. He might've been trying to say 'I WAS winning the fight' but that's equally preposterous.

I think Julio was just buzzed and has been smoking too much weed. He thought the fight had gone to the cards. The way he quit was surprising as well.

Still, hopefully now he gets to retire, drink beer, smoke weed, eat portion after portion of frijoles, and can walk around the streets beating up people he outweighs by 6 stone

Was a good fight to watch. I enjoyed it. Chavez has always had the bully mentality. For once he fought a guy who he couldn't bully and ended up quitting on his stool.

From the first round, it looked like Chavez was going to get KO'd.

Carl Froch should retire, his bonce has been punched enough and he's a made man with a bit of financial savvy to avoid blowing it all. Even with his granite chin you want to avoiding taking unnecessary pepper. Would Gennady have to jump a weight class? At what point do you finish 'cementing your legacy'? Win or lose, I could not envisage Froch not taking a lot of punches in that fight. That's a job for another man, Froch's shift should be done now. I don't even think he should stick around for Jimbo D, where's the point?
