I think Johnson is fine for this stage of his career, but agree about Love . . complete waste of time.

He wasn't dominating Charr or Hammer, but he made some effort to win those fights.Perseus wrote:If they only want "opponents" rather than somebody who may actually try to win the fight then Johnson is fine.
If Johnson cannot dominate from the opening bell forward he will make no attempt to win the fight.
Johnson is a top 50 opponent.tiny_acres wrote:He has done nothing to earn his place in the alphabet ratings fiasco.
But as we all know that does not mean anything.I hope Joshua fights a top 50 opponent
after these 2 jokes.
No he is not.Horse wrote:Johnson is a top 50 opponent.tiny_acres wrote:He has done nothing to earn his place in the alphabet ratings fiasco.

I disagree.tiny_acres wrote:No he is not.
He has not had a win in over 2 years and has lost 4 out of the last 5.Horse wrote:I disagree.tiny_acres wrote:No he is not.
I thought he deserved the win against Hammer and the Charr fight was close.tiny_acres wrote:He has not had a win in over 2 years and has lost 4 out of the last 5.
I strongly disagree with your scoring of those fights.fergusg wrote:Johnson only won two rounds against Hammer and Charr from both ten round fights he lost.

Being top 50 ranked doesn't mean the fighter is world class.fergusg wrote:The judges awarded two losses on the Kingpins resume... so they count. And I concur with the scoring of one of those defeats.
If you think that Kevin Johnson is a world-class fighter, then good for you.
I just think that Johnson has a sturdy chin that poses no threat whatsoever to AJ's unblemished record.
Duhaupas didn't outclass Charr.Boxing Writer wrote:After Johnson fight I'd like to see Joshua against the guy who recently outboxed and outclassed overrated Manuel Charr - Johann Duhaupas.
That's who I'd like to see him fight too.Boxing Writer wrote:After Johnson fight I'd like to see Joshua against the guy who recently outboxed and outclassed overrated Manuel Charr - Johann Duhaupas.
You are right - Charr doesn't have any class as a boxer, so he can't be outclassed.Horse wrote:Duhaupas didn't outclass Charr.Boxing Writer wrote:After Johnson fight I'd like to see Joshua against the guy who recently outboxed and outclassed overrated Manuel Charr - Johann Duhaupas.
I scored it for Charr.Boxing Writer wrote:You are right - Charr doesn't have any class as a boxer, so he can't be outclassed.
Johnson also has good defense in addition to the good chin, and Joshua hadn't fought a fighter with good defense in the pros yet. So it should be new learning experience for him, no problem with Johnson as Joshua's opponent at this stage of his career.fergusg wrote:The judges awarded two losses on the Kingpins resume... so they count.
