While it's sure to be damned good exposure for the unbeaten contender, I wish the promoters had matched Martin up with a better opponent than the UK's Tom Dallas.
Sure, it's just a showcase bout that will almost certainly be over before the bell ending the first round, it would have been nice to see Martin fight someone just a bit more solid/durable. But, whatever... As long as his opponent afterward is a top twenty heavy or at least close to it. Because, IMO he's more than ready to mix with the upper echelon fighters & make his move into the top ten NOW.
It would/will be great to see all those established heavies like Arreola, Cunningham, Malik Scott, Eric Molina, Szpilka, Fedosov & so on, put their reps & ratings on the line against a new, fresh face in Martin.
Hopefully, with the plethora of boxing now being televised, the promoters will get busy, make some good fights & give the public a regular dose of heavyweight action to stimulate their interest as well as stimulate the division with some new, exciting fighters in match ups with some of the old guard & against each other as well.
