anybody else changed their mind on the big one?
weeks ago i thought it is a not easy, but clear win
for floyd. not so sure anymore. manny has something
floyd has never been exposed to.
think it is a very close call with only a tiny edge for
floyd.
what surprised me though was how much bigger floyd
looked next to manny. could be a factor, floyd's style
makes it difficult for shorter men to come in.

tough one. regardless of who wins, hopefully it wont be boring. i felt that mayweather canelo as big as the hype and ppv numbers were, was a prety much boring fight to me. i mean floyd had canelo technicly outclassed but not even ones tried to hurt canelo, boring fight and over 2 million people watched that in hopes of getting some entertainmant.

hoping manny comes out all action, if Freddie has him fighting economically I think we could be in for a dull landslide. But I'm being positive it's going to be a great fight
Weigh in tickets coming on sale very soon. Let's get it on

Depends on "how" and "what they do" when they come in.
Ricky Hatton was shorter but was able to close the distance with his footspeed but doesn't have a lot of handspeed and is more headfirst than Manny is.
Jesus Chavez was also a shorter fighter but lacked the power to make Floyd respect him. If you watch the fight today, he did better than it gets said about him.

It's hard to hurt a man that outweighs you by nearly 15-18lbs on fight night, especially if you are not a big LMW and one with hand issues.Chepppaaa wrote:tough one. regardless of who wins, hopefully it wont be boring. i felt that mayweather canelo as big as the hype and ppv numbers were, was a prety much boring fight to me. i mean floyd had canelo technicly outclassed but not even ones tried to hurt canelo, boring fight and over 2 million people watched that in hopes of getting some entertainmant.
I changed my mind, Floyd isn't only going to stop Manny in the 11th by the corner saving him, he is also going to beat on him and make it look easy doing so for the majority of the fight (9 rounds or so).

Floyd has nothing or shown nothing to be able to stop manny at any point- he might frustrate him , but not enough to break his will and make him quit
Outside of some cut that could have the fight stopped , no way it ends early in favor of Floyd
On the flip side, a busy fighter is what is worst matchup for Floyd. See maidana. Maidana doesn't have accuracy that manny does or speed though. Might spell trouble for Floyd
I don't see fight being boring as manny will make Floyd fight. Or floyd will get out worked and out pointed
I like Floyd staying busy and edging out a decision 6 out of 10 times
I think if Floyd tries to play defense. Manny can outwork him and steal Rounds though
Bayless big advantage for Floyd
I think

You guys love to use/reference what Maidana did in the first fight and completely overlook how from that fight to the very next one that Chino wasn't able to do squat in the rematch, he got shut out like a Pitcher throwing a no hitter.
Maidana is much bigger than Manny, he is far more physical too and punch harder as well, yes he is slower but he is also taller with a longer reach and a better chin.
Stop using references from old ass fights and especially ones where the rematch proved the first to be a fluke of nothing but a pitiful foul fest that you guys accept as boxing
Re: anybody else changed their mind on the big one?
What evidence is there for Maidana punching harder?

As far a Maidana rematch.
It's kinda hard to fight 2 guys in the ring. No matter how good you are
As far as who hits harder. Flat footed I'd say maidana. But manny uses angles and speed on top of power

Kenny Bayless on the early going of Mayweather-Maidana II:
“I thought that the at the very beginning of the fight that everything was pretty much going pretty smoothly. My objective was to not let them get tied up because if they get tied up, then you have to deal with the possible fouls. The objective was to maintain control of the fight.
“Knowing going into it what had happened in the past in the first fight, I had told them in the dressing room that if they were going to clinch, that I would give them the opportunity to fight out of it, but the clinches that they were in were hard clinches.
“So, with that, I got in as quickly as I could and separated them so that they wouldn’t get into any fouling or into even any unintentional fouls. I just wanted to start out the fight that way. So that’s the reason that I was getting in as quickly as I did, because I didn’t want them to get tangled up.”
So instead of penalising or warning Floyd for holding to solve the issue, the right thing to do, he chose to take maidanas fight strategy off him, he didn't give any opportunity to fight out because as he said he was in so quickly, what a poor explaination, should have just told the truth he was biased

he didnt gave the opportinuty to fight of the clinch, it was break immediatly...
Re: anybody else changed their mind on the big one?
the great thing about manny is that he will not
take "good defence" for an answer. going forward
until the end, whenever that might come ...
i wonder about the role of the corners, could be
vital in this one. maybe roach sees something and
changes strategy in between. atlas and dundee
played decisive roles in some fights, maybe this
fight turns into something unexpected and the
corners become prominent.
i liked what i saw from the build up. from the
classy meeting, just the two guys in suits across
each other, to the HBO piece. six more days ...
