Who is Kevin Johnson training with?

Post by Incognito »

My guess is Adam Booth or Peter Fury.

Adam because he mentions best trainer in London which I believe Booth is. And Peter because we know he dislike AJ and probably wants to get him out of the way for Hughie. He also trains another useless American heavyweight in Eddie Chambers.

I would be astonished if Booth or fury would waste his time on Johnson. Let's have it right, Kingpin is only coming for the paycheck and who can blame him. He is a single parent, he's not looking for a war or too take any real punishment from the bodybuilder - he will be out of there within 3 rounds.. this is a fcuk you pay me and fast Eddie is happy to oblige.

Probably Fury, Johnson has been in camp sparring with Tyson before.

Said on Sky yesterday he has been sparring Fury. He's been here a little while so I'm not too sure who he's been training with the whole time he's been here. He looks in decent shape (compared to some of the states I've seen him in).

Assume we will find out on Saturday when they are in his corner.

Much like Kingpin's fights I expect the reality to be very underwhelming compared to the chat.

Think this fight will be a stinker if Joshua can't blast him out within 4 rounds.

Anyone know why Johnson hasn't been in a fight for a year? Injury, or even a then retirement, or personal issues? Am looking forward to the fight, though.

http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2015/m ... -greatness

Profile on AJ yesterday....a puff piece really, Donald McRae seems a bit too in awe of the great AJ - and got to say, Joshua seems a bit deluded himself too - under the impression that pretty much any heavy is going to bow down before his earth shaking power, and speaking about his last win over the great Zumbano like he's just knocked out Joe Frazier.
Plus all that crap about him facing 10 years in jail for having a bag of weed on him sounds like a load of bullshite..

No doubt this over confidence is due to the long line of bums that fast Eddie has been matching him against.

I doubt Kevin BurgerKingpin Johnson is going to test him much either.

Usually like McRae's stuff but that wasn't great, mostly just Joshua talking about how great he's going to be, exaggerating the legal stuff that was going on and spouting his #stayhumble bollocks.

He said he has been up in Manchester, so that rules out Booth and Whyte's camp. I assume it is the Fury's (I know that is in Bolton, but they are close enough for an Americans geography), epecially with him saying that his trainer just told him straight that he was being a bum and to get his act together or he would get knocked out. Being alongside another American in Eddie Chambers was also probably another draw, less home sickness with him being over here for so long.

He has been training alongside Dillian Whyte at least at some point.
I don't know who he has in the role of trainer.

That is utter shite indeed. I was caught with an ounce in my 20's, and got a 35 pound fine.

I think everyone is getting a little too excited about Joshua at this stage, there's stuff to be excited about, but let's not get carried away.

Tyson Fury, Hughie Fury, Dillian Whyte and even David Price would dispute that. All we know about AJ at this stage of his career is he's good at knocking out has beens and no hopers. He has power and he's quick to spot when his opponents are in trouble and finish the job. We have no idea how AJ reacts to getting punched hard upside the head. What happens if he has to fight past the fifth or sixth round? Does he run out of steam? Does he get frustrated?

Until we know these things, it's premature to talk about how good or bad AJ really is.

Johnson has weighed in at just over sixteen stone and looks in much better shape than normal.
