Running in big tracksuits and heavy gear (Old School !!)

Post by devon runner »

Hello I'm new here . I'm actually a runner and been doing it for 30 years !! but I loves boxing but was never brave enough but I always told the amateurs if they want a runner to run with I'm can pace for you at anytime .So I do put something back in !!!!

I was wondering what a modern boxer trains in . I know a trainer here 73 years old and he has always said wear a tracksuit hooded top wollly hat and gloves for a five mile run . !!! Everybody has there sun glasses on with their roofs down and these guys are off to the North pole .

I also did my city and guilds in sport when I was at college in the eighties and I know that when you do this you probably just shed fluid and replace it over the rest of the day I don't think you shed weight .
What do you guys do

all depends on the run im doing. if im going for a fast 3 mile run or sprints on the track it will be in shorts and t shirt, but if im going for a 5 miler i run in full tracksuit wooly hat the lot. I dont know anything about the science side of things but i just think that although your losing water weight you are also making your body work harder to cool itself therefore burning more calories. As i say i could be completely wrong but that is what i was always told
