To press along with this process, some votes have already been counted. And these are;
+1 Duran
+1 Armstrong
+1 Whitaker
+1 Mayweather
+1 Whitaker
+1 Ross
- subject to change if Mr Armageto wishes it.

Re: The Super Six: live votes - 48 hours to make your picks
And my votes are for:
Duran, Armstrong Whitaker, Mayweather.... and I'll say Arguello, just because he's done me proud and I think he could do some damage in that extremely elite company.

Duran, Whitaker, Armstrong, Mayweather and... Ross. Was tempted by Chavez, but as they fought a couple of weeks ago and Ross won that tips the balance just enough in his favour.
Re: The Super Six: live votes - 48 hours to make your picks
Duran, Whitaker, Mayweather, Armstong, and Ross are my picks.
To me, they seem pretty clear cut this year. Chavez was close but just fell short.
I know overall rankings aren't the say all end to the selection here, and I know Arguello is your fighter Crease, but I don't see how you nominated him. He's lost every big fight from my memory this season.

Re: The Super Six: live votes - 48 hours to make your picks
I'd like to propose an 8 man single elimination tournament for the final spot of the super six, between the fighters ranked 6 through 13, the fights will be drawn randomly by the software, this could make things fun I think.
as for my choices its clear that Duran, Armstrong, Whitaker and Mayweather all make the cut, as for the final spot I think theres a case for many fighters, Ross Chavez, Gans and Canzoneri come to mind, they all had good seasons, but im going to stir the pot a little here and cast my vote for....Hector Camacho!!
LOL, I know it sounds funny but I think hes had a great season considering his rating in the software, he has wins over Benny Leonard and Barney Ross, has held world and minor titles and is currently in the top 10.

Cast my votes for the top 5 as they show on the ratings.

Could you please name your six to prevent any confusion.Tomasino wrote:I don't want to vote for Whittaker once never mind twice!!
Re: The Super Six: live votes - 48 hours to make your picks
I know, I let my heart rule over my head. I just admired the courage of Alexis, and the way that he put it up to the elite fighters of this season and was unlucky in a couple of the bouts. I suppose you could say that I took the cowardly way out, for not voting against my man...armageto wrote:I know overall rankings aren't the say all end to the selection here, and I know Arguello is your fighter Crease, but I don't see how you nominated him. Call me a coward if you so wish. I'm not proud of it

It looks like we'll have a conclusive vote, with the above five being heavily favoured to enter the super six.Crease wrote:Roberto Duran - 8 votes

Floyd Mayweather Jr - 8 votes
Barney Ross - 6 votes
Re: The Super Six: live votes - 48 hours to make your picks
I would be quite reluctant to tinker with the tried and tested method of the super six. But to cater for the needs of the fighters whose ranking that you have mentioned above, I would be quite keen on the idea of having a "mini super six" , for the next best six fighters who are all of a similar rank and level.Fist of Legend wrote:I'd like to propose an 8 man single elimination tournament for the final spot of the super six, between the fighters ranked 6 through 13, the fights will be drawn randomly by the software, this could make things fun I think.
Thoughts on this gentlemen?

Re: The Super Six: live votes - 24 hours remaining
How about put anyone who feels they just missed the cut in an "almost Super Six" tourney? Would still be fun to watch and it would speed up matchmaking....
Re: The Super Six: live votes - 24 hours remaining
Just to be the better fella, we take away our selfish vote for Whitaker, and replace it for Joe Gans.
He gave us a couple of good fights that we feel we won, however they were technically scored as 1 draw, and one win for Gans.....
Kindly refer to me as "Saint BoxBuzz" from this moment forward.

A moment of altruistic virtue from Buzz...
How would have though it?
Re: The Super Six: live votes - 24 hours remaining
I'd definitely like to throw Arguello in with that... And it looks like we could place Camacho, Chavez, Canzoneri & Gans in there as well. And we could use Camacho's IBO Title as the prize in the tournament.armageto wrote:How about put anyone who feels they just missed the cut in an "almost Super Six" tourney? Re: The Super Six: live votes - 24 hours remaining
one more hour to go before I finalise this.
(It's 99% settled with the amount of votes that the leading guys have and a good distance from the other guys, but I'll just give this last chance for anyone wishing to lodge their vote and have their say... Then I'll close this thread.)
