Beating estrada and getting stopped in all 3 attempts at a world title are not enough to keep him world top 10. He's European level at best, especially as burns & katsidis struggat the highest level.

Yeah agree. Burns looked to be back on a bit of form last time out but he was never getting a decision out there. The ref and scorecards proved that. Campbell will be no1 this time next year or sooner I reckon. Looks the business.

He got beat up and quit. After his three fights at world level it is plain to see he isn't at that level, he's taken a pasting every time, just took a bit longer with Linares.

I'd take Abril and Vazquez to outbox Linares and Zlaticanin to knock him out. Linares is very good technically with decent power, but he's come up from featherweight, picking up vacant titles without really beating any quality oppositon and he's seriously vulnerable. If Burns is anywhere near what he was he'd stop Linares, there's no way he'd be able to stand up to that sort of pressure for 12 rounds, I don't really see why the Figueroa fight being at light welter makes a difference, if anything it only makes it a better performance because Ricky's far better off at lightweight where he can really use his size to bully opponents, to go toe to toe for 12 rounds with a fighter who couldn't even get close to 10st shows he's far from finished.

I don't see how Mitchell has improved, same as ever, all good when he's on top and having things his own way, but he'll always crumble when he's put under pressure, he doesn't have it in him mentally to win at the highest level and in all honesty, even if he did, he just isn't good enough either.

For me Burns didn't look good at the weight against Gonzales, Beltran and Zlaticanin.
I thought he looked great at Light welter and really pushed Figueroa. Moving back down to lightweight I feel will effect him.

Couldn't disagree more. Not that it matters I was sitting 30ft from Mitchell in the linares fight, I think everyone could see the facial damage, and the ref stopped in he didn't quit. Linares is probably the best lightweight in the world, Arbil wouldn't start as favourite against him that's obvious. Vasquez doesn't outbox anyone, he is just superbig and jabs and runs, a more mobile version of Paulie malignaggi!

Yeah the ref did stop it but Mitchell was done! It doesn't matter if you were sitting '30ft' or 400ft, Mitchell's heart wasn't in it at that point! I like Mitchell but he seems to lack the mental strength needed at the top level. Burns done a better job on Mitchell than Linares so I can see where that other dude is coming from tbh. I don't usually go by that mentality but saying Burns isn't in the same league as Linares is just daft. For what it's worth I'd fancy Burns chances against Linares. Would be a good fight.

Hopefully they do fight... As I said, it would be a good fight to watch. Gonzalez was beating Burns but when Burns started to find his range and started to get back into the fight Gonzalez quit! Nothing lucky about that is there? Gonzalez did the same in his last fight also so it isn't a coincidence.
