ANDRE WARD SAYS HE'S READY AND AVAILABLE TO FIGHT GENNNADY GOLOVKIN: "CALL HBO...LET'S MAKE IT HAPPEN"

ANDRE WARD SAYS HE'S READY AND AVAILABLE TO FIGHT GENNNADY GOLOVKIN:
"It's funny to me. I mean, when you look at the fight with GGG, it seems that the media, not including you of course, but they keep pushing the timeframe back. So last year, it was this year would've been a good time, and now this year, it's next year. When are people going to feel like that's a fight that they want to see," stated undefeated super middleweight king Andre Ward, who shared his thoughts on a potential showdown with undefeated middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin. During a recent appearance on ESPN's SportsNation, Ward made it clear that he's more than willing to face the hard-hitting champion sooner rather than later.
"Hey, like I said earlier, Andre Ward, and yes, I went third person, I'm ready and I think if everybody comes to the table with a clear head and nobody is trying to dictate; I hear stuff in the media. They're trying to dictate and negotiate the fight through the media. That's rule number one. That's not going to work. You know, if you really want to fight, less talking in the media. Let's get the network involved, HBO, a great network, let's put it in their hands, put it in our teams hands; Andre Ward is available and we can make it happen," Ward explained. "At the end of the day, I see what's happening. I've been following this sport since I've been a baby; 20 years. They want Golovkin to smile and wave and be the pretty boy, and then the promoters, they do the tough talk. But then if I respond, then I'm the villain. Well I'm no villain. I've never built my career on that. So I'm very simple, but I also mean what I say. If GGG wants to fight, come from behind the promoter, come from behind the trainer, tell 'em to call HBO, I've already done that before I came on the show because I knew you guys were going to ask me this, and let's make it happen."

...come from behind the promoter, come from behind the trainer...
...and come to Oakland...and come to 168...
Now that GGG is fighting Lemieux I hope Ward will pursue a good fight with a fighter in his own weight class, whatever that weight class is now.

Re: "LET'S MAKE IT HAPPEN"
Why is Ward even calling out a middleweight?
I don't believe that a big man should call out a little man.
If the little man wants the fight, then he jumps up beats a path to the big man's door, but the likes of Ward should not be calling out Golovkin, unless he is prepared to drop down to 160, which we all know he isn't.

HAHAHHAHAHAHA.
Ward is higher on the p4p list than your IQ.
You're a god damn idiot.
Re: "LET'S MAKE IT HAPPEN"
While your on boxrec check the p4p rankings, he's ranked 19 or can't you read numb nuts, doesn't matter how good you think he is activity counts and his last fight won't do much for his rating

This is a great example of what has been going on for years and frankly I wish it would stop.
When will GGG step up and answer one of the elite challengers at the weights he says he can fight in?

GGG is fighting the second best middleweight. When will Ward step up ?koolkc107 wrote:This is a great example of what has been going on for years and frankly I wish it would stop.

We have nothing further to discuss in this thread if you think Lemieux is the 2nd best 160 lber in the world.ikorolev wrote:GGG is fighting the second best middleweight. Exactly, tiny acres.
And no offense to Ikorolev, we all have an opinion.

Re: "LET'S MAKE IT HAPPEN"
Who do you think will beat him: Cotto, Quillin, Lee ??? I strongly doubt.koolkc107 wrote:We have nothing further to discuss in this thread if you think Lemieux is the 2nd best 160 lber in the world.ikorolev wrote:GGG is fighting the second best middleweight. Re: "LET'S MAKE IT HAPPEN"
Lemieux may or may not be the 2nd best in the division, but at least he has the boys to take the fight vs GGG, which Cotto and Quillen clearly do not.
Lee will face Lara, and we will see how that goes, and hopefully the winner will fight GGG, unless he gets upset by Lemieux....which is very unlikely.

I doubt that Lee will face Lara.
Re: "LET'S MAKE IT HAPPEN"
Me too and I don't think Lemieux can pull off the upset of GGG, he showed a lot of vulnerability in his last bout.ikorolev wrote:I doubt that Lee will face Lara.

Lemieux has no chance against GGG.For me this is just another mismatchKBB wrote:Me too and I don't think Lemieux can pull off the upset of GGG, he showed a lot of vulnerability in his last bout.ikorolev wrote:I doubt that Lee will face Lara.
Re: "LET'S MAKE IT HAPPEN"
To be fair to Ward, Golovkin's team (don't actually think it was GGG) mentioned Andre first. They've been saying for a while he knocks out anyone from 154-168. Think Ward is just getting p!ssed off that they stuff like that but haven't actually made him an offer to fight, and they first mentioned him while he was in a contract dispute and couldn't fight anyway.Syntax Error wrote:Why is Ward even calling out a middleweight?

I like both fighters but would probably prefer to see Ward vs Kovalev.

I don't believe it is GGG himself, just his people trying to keep his name out there.
You cannot tell Ward off for calling out GGG, when GGG's team were the ones who instigated.
Re: "LET'S MAKE IT HAPPEN"
Kovalev vs Ward is THE fight to make right now for both guys. They wasted our time and the Krusher's time this past weekend with that mandatory defense which couldn't be more of a mismatch.
Kovalev only had two other fights in the division; Adonis & Beterbiev. But, Michel and Haymon promotes both guys so even though the recent buzz says that Kovalev/Beterbiev in Russia in November, i'll believe it when i see it. I can see these negotiations being nothing more than a waste of time. If the Beterbiev fight were to happen though, that would be a great fight to make as doubtful as it is.
So who does Ward have left? Who does Sergey have left? The ONLY fight at this point is with each other unless Ward wants to fight another mechanic on some obscure TV outlet again. Wards all gung ho to fight a smaller guy, let's see his nuggets with his response this fight.
