Best I Faced Wayne McCullough

Post by El Raincoat »

Last Thursday was the 20 year anniversary of Wayne McCullough's WBC bantamweight title win. Here's my feature on him...

I enjoyed that . McCullough was as tough as they get .

Just watched some of the fight McCullough had against the old guy Daniel Zaragoza . Great fight . Zaragoza is so relaxed and to fight at age 39 in that weight class , remarkable .

I remember the Pocket Rocket. He broke my heart the night he fought Hamed. I wanted Hamed to lose soooo badly.

Thanks for posting the article…excellent read! So rare that we get to see a top rated World Class Irish fighter. He was an exciting fighter to watch. Too bad he didn’t have a little more pop. He had to make up for it with his volume and chin but a tough price to pay. I knows he’s bitter about losing out on a few yrs but I’m glad they pulled the plug on him. He was too tough for his own good and he started taking too many shots. He’s got his faculties and a good life. A friend of mine in Vegas sparred with him a few yrs back and said nothing but good things…a real stand up classy guy. Thanks for the great career Wayne McCullough!
