Where is Grzegorz Proksa?

Post by BasqueCountry »

I remember he fought Pablo Navascues and Sebastian Sylvester brilliantly. After this last performance with a world level middleweight fighter we thought he would be a world champion soon and he'd be in a high level, but after his defeat with Gennady Golovkin he hasn't been very well. His victories haven't impressed anybody and his last two fights have been loses with not very good opponents. Why is he showing such a weak level? Is he mentally bad?

The guy is just bizarre.

One minute he is ducking and sliding out the way of punches - the next round his hands are down, and he's blocking right hand's with his face.

If u watch his fight against Sulecki, at the end of 6 I think, he is throwing the kitchen sink and roaring in his face, then he comes out the next round and throws hardly anything, then goes down like a Spanish footballer from a routine punch and has to be helped back to his corner after its waved off.

At the time I could not decide if it was fishy, or he simply is that flaky.

I just don't think he was as good as he was made out to be. The Sylvester result was brilliant but it elevated him up to a level where he didn't really belong. I don't think Sylvester was to motivated for that fight to be honest after losing his world title to Geale previously and if I remember correctly he quit on his stool after getting cut. Taking a fight against Mora almost immediately after GGG was a bad decision as he was never going to look good and always had a chance of losing. As Gomez said, the Sulecki fight was strange. I felt he was just back in the homeland for a payday. It's hard to believe he is still only 30, I was expecting 34/35 when I looked at his record.

Come on guys, he is hardly Ali's second coming. He got beat by the game but limited Kerry hope.
