Froch on verge of leaving Hennessy...

Nottingham's Carl Froch has been dropped from the BBC after it pulled the plug on his promoter Mick Hennessy.
A spokeswoman for the BBC said: "Carl Froch is obviously one of Mick Hennessy's fighters and we have stopped working with Mick."
The move is bad news for unbeaten Froch, who turned pro with Hennessy Sports to box on the BBC.
"I wanted to showcase my talents," said Froch. "I wanted to become a household name."

They give us half arsed coverage at Midnight then give up.

MMM lets have some more of those wonderfull Celebrity driving School DIY programs instead then.

Froch should be ok - he's very marketable and talented and will have no problem finding another promoter.

Howard Eastman may be better off too if he heads to the USA although I'd avoid SN if I was him.

Overall though it's a shame.

I was watching the ITV news yesterday and they were talking about BBC 4, 5 and 6. I thought there was only 3.

BBC and Sky are both shit, IMO. Though that might be harsh considering I hardly watch either.

It'll be really interesting to see where Froch goes from here. I see his career as being in limbo now with regard his overall objectives. Though, to be honest I never thought he was as good as the BBC made out. Pain in the arse that the Dodson fight didn't happen.

I've watched alot of boxing tapes and enjoyed Froch

I don't understand what the F*ck the BBC are playing at?

Who exactly is left at the BBC in terms of boxing?

Which promoters are they dealing with now?

Is there gonna be any more big fights on the BBC?

I know the BBC were talking with allegedly but I don't know what came of that so we'll see what the future is for them!

I think the BBC are still going to show Cruiserweight hope David Hayes fights.

BBC counts out boxer Harrison

Boxing champion Audley Harrison has been knocked out for the count by the BBC.

Since winning at the Olympic Games, he has had an exclusive TV rights deal with the corporation.

But Saturday's bout with fighter Tomasz Bonin, a defence of his WBF heavyweight champion title, will be the last.

A BBC spokesman said: "We have had a review of our boxing strategy and want to concentrate more on grass roots and amateur boxing."

It means that the Olympic champion's fights will no longer be televised by the BBC.

Harrison signed a 10-fight deal with the corporation in 2001 after taking gold in the super-heavyweight category at the Sydney Olympics in 2000.

A three-fight deal followed, and finally a fight-by-fight arrangement.

But Harrison's bouts have failed to prove a major draw in the ratings, with critics slamming the quality of his performances and his opponents.

His bout with Polish fighter Bonin on Saturday will be his last screened on BBC1.

However, the corporation will continue its boxing coverage.

"We will continue to follow grass roots and amateur boxing," said a spokesman. "Up-and-coming stars to be followed include David Haye and Carl Froch."

Carl Froch has no intention of leaving Hennessey I'm told, he apparentley has faith in Hennessey finding another vehicle for his fights.

Whether this position would be sustained if this is not the case, only time will tell but it is a little premature to add one and one to get three.

Lets wait for facts.
