UNDEFEATED PROSPECT JAMAL HARRIS WINS WITH 4th ROUND TKO
Pensacola’s Harris shines in front of hometown fans winning each round and stopping opponent Ty Evans with a flurry of punches August 1, 2015 at Pensacola Bay Center

Pensacola, FL: August 1, 2015 Jamal Harris (3-0) put on a phenomenal show, Promoted by Island Fights and Future Hall Of Fame Boxer and Pensacola native Roy Jones Jr.’s Square Ring Promotions Inc. Harris gave the crowd exactly what they were looking for; a show. Exemplifying skills that are honed by dedication and commitment, Harris won by TKO with the referee stopping the fight at 2:10 in the 4th round, bringing Harris to his 3rd victory.

Harris states, “I feel great about the fight; it’s always room for improvement, I felt great about my ability to neutralize him even though Ty Evans was a challenging opponent with the ability to switch stances and a good chin, by the 4th round I utilized my jab and landed a good hook that forced him into the corner and relentlessly landed combination punches where he couldn't defend himself making the referee stop the fight. The victory was well deserved and I had a great time performing in front of my hometown fans and family. Jamal’s team Driven to Win Promotions are on the search for his next opponent and eager to get Jamal back into the ring.

About Jamal Harris:

Born in Pensacola, Florida in 1992, Harris started boxing from a young age. Dealing with the early death of his mother Trenessa Jordan and being placed in a boys youth camp, Harris had all the odds against him. Later, Jamal began to live and eventually train with adoptive father Lemuel Jones, (Middleweight Anthony Mundine, Featherweight Derrick “Smoke” Gainer) who was an integral part of the early Roy Jones Jr training team. After 9 years of training and dominating amateur competitions across the United States Jamal now cites self-discipline as one of his best traits. Harris had an exceptional amateur career 40-2, winning his first and last fights; competing at the Junior Olympics and later going on to compete at the 2011 Olympic Trials in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Amongst his gym mates has been nicknamed The Nightmare, “When I hit you clean, you will remember it, I will give my opponents nightmares, they will remember Me… or at least what they saw before getting hit and up off the canvas.” Considering the fact of numerous declined fights and the quick destruction of lesser skilled fighter’s, the name is only fitting.

Harris continually states, “You can’t get there with slacking. You have to do what it takes, and then more. I take my training seriously and this is all I know since age 12.” On one occasion, “Roy Sr told me I was going to be a champion if I continue to train. I’m driven to win. I want to exceed all expectations my fans, family, and I have for myself in and outside of the ring. My goal is to be mentioned not only among other boxing greats but above all men to step into the ring.”
