Rubio Toughness - Dan Rafael Biased reporting

Post by Aaronide_ger »

Before the fight in the "Making the rounds" edition of Direll-Rubio Dan Rafael disagreed with Brian Campbell saying that Rubio has a "Weak Chin" as shown in his fight with Kofi Jantuah and Gennady Golovkin, predicting a Early easy KO for Direll.

the Kofi fight was in 2004, YEARS back (A good example is Shannon Briggs that was KO'ed early in his career but went the distance with Vitali later in his career) And the Golovkin fight was just.. Golovkin, the guy punches SO hard and it was proven yet another time today.

Direll did NEVER hurt Rubio, never even rocked him and he landed flush.. and that was the first time Rubio was fighting at Super Middleweight.

So to get into my point, Rubio has a very good chin, was very young when stopped against Jantuah and gave up against Golovkin because GGG is a boogeyman. Thats all, I had nothing against Dan Rafael but he seemed very biased with this one.

Rubio takes a punch fine, and if someone looks at his entire body of fights rather than cherry-picking the Jantuah loss they should be able to see that.

Rubio went 12 rounds in a pretty close fight with Jr and took Lemieux's punches. His chin is good.

Today, he was outboxed. The ref was also helping by breaking them and not letting Rubio to fight inside.

Dat ref though.. only ONCE Rubio managed to fight on the inside and he got the better of Direll, Not that he would have won but still he could have put some more work in.

Rubio is exceptionally durable. It just goes to
show what type of banger GGG is.

There is that.

Or, it may be that Rubio is a bit stronger chinned not having to get down to 160.

Or some of both...

Usually Dan Rafael is okay, but by times he can be very biased.

Rubio survived several rounds of Lemieux barrages. His chin at 160 was solid.

I don't think Dan Rafael has a real reason to be biased. I think he is just wrong on this issue.
