Wow, wondered what happened to him on the world scene. Died Monday, apparently had brain cancer but not much news out there. He was a beast in the amateurs and would have been a great pro. Won several titles beat Cammerelle, Solis, Pulev, Hunter, Helenius, etc in amateurs. I thought he would be world champ when I saw him years ago. RIP

I was wondering what happened to him....he was a beast at his best and I first took note of him when he manhandled Cammerelle in the 2006 Euro Championships. For a while he looked like the clear favorite to win gold in the 2008 Olympics but he was plagued by injuries and seemed to fall off the map after the upset loss to Price.

Could have been an amazing pro...possibly an all time great. His style was well suited to the pros and he was an absolute terror.
