Cardle/Buckland - Saturday - Good fight

British lightweight title on the line this Saturday on the Smith bill in Liverpool, I like the look of this one, it could be a cracker.

Hoping Gary has plenty left because it will be good to see Cardle tested to see exactly what he has, both men always give everything and barring
an early blow out which is unlikely can't see how this fails to be a good fight.

Not seen Buckland since prizefighter, I know he had a tune up but did not see that one, Cardle's activity and the fact it's up a lightweight make Scotty favourite for me, although Gary is sure to have whipped himself into good shape.

Cardle comoftable for me, like Buckland was a cracking fighter at Super Feather but think he's definitely slipped into the opponent role now. Away fighter weight class above his best etc

Really good fight. I would like to see Buckland at Super Feather. I think he's been largely forgotten about - at one stage he was looking like one of the best Super Feathers in Europe. He was giving Stephen Smith problems until that punch - he was a beast at Super Feather.

If Buckland is on form a real test for Cardle.

Buckland is a great test for Cardle.

Buckland has fantastic workrate but Cardle is a highly skilled fighter.
Cardle needs to win impressively as he is starting to get left behind when people talk about the British lightweights.
Personally I feel his promoters and management need to increase his profile or get him a big named opponent.
If not he will eventually just be served up to Campbell.

I cant wait for this one too,great domestic tussle.looks like it has points written all over but both guys punch harder than their records suggest although their not dynamite fisted,its the perfect 1st defence from Cardle's point of view,Buckland is a tough game fighter,i never seen his fight with Commey for the Commonwealth but it bodes well that he wasnt KO'd ,he's a fighter who ive thought was finished after getting KO'd from Smith but he was great against Rees both times,this will be a much simpler fight for Cardle than Evans was,he wont have to go looking for Buckland

I think Cardle can raise his game and dominate Buckland before overwhelming him late

Can't be for the British title surely, the best they can head it up would be some sort of eliminator I am guessing.

Also think Dodd was only schedule for six so not sure this can be anything other than a 10 rounder at most?

We await news of what it is and how many rounds it is i guess.

Its over 8, its just Hearn has said he'll try and make Cardle v the winner for the title (I think thats him being diplomatic and is really saying Cardle v Buckland will be rescheduled for November 7th after Buckland beats Dodd in a keep busy fight......I'm not so sure)

It's hard to see anything other than what you said above really, Dodd is brave but in theory Buckland can box for a couple of rounds then turn it up relentlessly and try and get the stoppage, if Gary has his engine left still, 8 rounds won't be a problem for him. Bill is looking a bit thin to be honest now for a live Sky card. Eddie must be praying neither Smith or Boschiero trip up the stairs this week or he really is in trouble.

Bea massive upset if he can pull this off but suppose he's got nothing to lose and what a chance for him to fight live on Sky ect!

Just realised he played in a charity match at Celtic last Sunday unclear whether that is the cause of the pull out though the release does say quads so I can believe it.

Surely a trainer would be dead against a fighter playing football two weeks before a title defence especially when the week before last is when training camp peaks.
