Flanagan. He's improving rapidly.
Workrate is high enough to pull off a points win.

Flanagan on points for me. Good hard fought contest but comfortable on the cards at the end.
Re: Terry Flanagan (c) vs. Diego Magdaleno - October 10th 2015
Watched Magdelenos last fight didn't see anything Flanagan should fear unlike Zepeda who could clearly bang.
Bookies have this 50/50 at the moment but should expect that to change near fight night.

Re: Terry Flanagan (c) vs. Diego Magdaleno - October 10th 2015
was listening to Magdaleno's trainer Joel Diaz the other day on TBV pod saying its an easier fight for Magdaleno than Zepeda and how happy they were to see they had the easier path etc.It sounded like they are underestimating Terry here a lot.
It will be a tough fight for both have good workrate and can Terry cope with the volume of punches that Magdaleno is going to throw all night?I don't think he bangs that hard, infact hes a bit Joe slappy at times.Terry can keep him moving and missing could be a wide win for me.

Re: Terry Flanagan (c) vs. Diego Magdaleno - October 10th 2015
I think this is a very hard fight for Flanagan, possibly even harder than the Zepeda fight could have been,i rate Magdaleno, ive seen a fair bit of him over the years and i thought he won his WBO Super Featherweight challenge against Roman Martinez and he's a tough fighter with a high workrate, like Terry he has decent power although his record would suggest otherwise,he seems a confident fighter so i doubt the crowd will faze him although they can help Flanagan in the close rounds
i'll give Flanagan the slight edge with being a natural LW and fighting at home but have a feeling we could see another draw

Re: Terry Flanagan (c) vs. Diego Magdaleno - October 10th 2015
Magdaleno is a poser with short arms who needs to jump in head down with punches directed below the neck that wont score on the taller well guarded and also fleet footed flanagan IMO.
Magdaneno's past opponents efforts fail dismally compared to Flanagans as as far as Martinez I dont rate him.

Hopefully Flanagan can retain and get some big Manchester cards going at the M.E.N.
Terry Flanagan add in Hughie Fury, Young Fury, Adam Machaj, Luke Blackledge, Denton Vassell, David Barnes, 'Jimmy' Kilrain Kelly, Stephen Foster, Jack Catterall, Joe Murray, Adrian Gonzalez, Michael Gomez Jnr.
Plenty of talent in and around Manchester open to Fr@nk W@rren to create some big shows...

I can't see him working with the Fury's and Vassell, Barnes, Foster and Murray are about done.wesshaw1985 wrote:Hopefully Flanagan can retain and get some big Manchester cards going at the M.E.N.

Agreeed. But Terry isnt a huge draw on his own.mickey1975 wrote:I can't see him working with the Fury's and Vassell, Barnes, Foster and Murray are about done.wesshaw1985 wrote:Hopefully Flanagan can retain and get some big Manchester cards going at the M.E.N.

Fr@nk can use the old established names to get people in the door allowing more eyeballs on the new generation.
As far as the Furys, Fr@nk is a business man, a name like Hughie co-maining to Flanagan in Manchester gets people interested.
HWs are a casual fans dream...

Re: Terry Flanagan (c) vs. Diego Magdaleno - October 10th 2015
how does Flanagan match up with -
Linares (WBC)?
Mitchell (WBC)?
Shafikov (IBF)?
Barthelemy (IBF)?
Perez (WBA)?
Crolla (WBA)?
could Flanagan unify the division?

Re: Terry Flanagan (c) vs. Diego Magdaleno - October 10th 2015
I think the WBA title is ripe for the picking regardless the winner... I fancy Barthelemy over Shafikov, either fighter would give Flanagan a tough night though, as would Linares. Not sure why Mitchell is included in your list?wesshaw1985 wrote:how does Flanagan match up with -

Magdaleno with relative ease. Dunno how anyone can think otherwise.
Re: Terry Flanagan (c) vs. Diego Magdaleno - October 10th 2015
A draw wouldn't surprise me here.Tough tough fight to call, Think we will see a very close fight with maybe Flanagan getting the hometown nod, sd.
Re: Terry Flanagan (c) vs. Diego Magdaleno - October 10th 2015
Magdaleno wins I think

I thought the Linares/Mitchell rematch got made, apparently not.PokerRob wrote:I think the WBA title is ripe for the picking regardless the winner... Is Terry top of the UK LW picture at the mo then?
Re: Terry Flanagan (c) vs. Diego Magdaleno - October 10th 2015
He was getting out boxed by Gonzalez when Gonzalez actually tried but unlike Gonzalez Terry has got bottle and wont fold under pressure, i'm not saying Terry is as good a boxer as Gonzalez but he's bigger, stronger, punches to the body well and moves well too.keithmoonhangover wrote:Magdaleno with relative ease. If Magdaleno was quality as you say he is he wouldn't of had a close fight with Roman Martinez (Roman is an average champion). I think your underestimating Terry if you think this is going to be a formality.

Re: Terry Flanagan (c) vs. Diego Magdaleno - October 10th 2015
I like Terry and hope he proves me wrong. I thought Magdaleno wasn't at his best against Gonzalez, maybe I'm wrong. I've hedard nothing but good things from the states and I hear that his camp are so confident, that they took the fight in the UK without hesitation, as they see it as an easy night. I hope I'm wrong, my bank manager disagrees.digzee wrote:He was getting out boxed by Gonzalez when Gonzalez actually tried but unlike Gonzalez Terry has got bottle and wont fold under pressure, i'm not saying Terry is as good a boxer as Gonzalez but he's bigger, stronger, punches to the body well and moves well too.keithmoonhangover wrote:Magdaleno with relative ease. I would argue so; he's the only one to hold a legit title, has the best British undefeated record except for Brook (Quigg has draws) and is easily ranked the highest on Boxrec!wesshaw1985 wrote:I thought the Linares/Mitchell rematch got made, apparently not.PokerRob wrote:I think the WBA title is ripe for the picking regardless the winner... The Linares/Cano winner has Zlaticanin next I think, he might be the dark horse of the division.
