29th seems terribly low for Terry Flanagan, especially looking at some of the names in that middle section

No place for Brian Rose or Rocky Fielding?

It will be interesting to see how high a new entry Ovill will be if he wins tomorrow?

Callum Smiths dominant win over Rebrasse is better then anything his brother Paul has ever done he must be higher.

Yeah Flanagan would be top 20 for me.

Good list :TU: Flanagan too low though and Chisora too high. I wouldn't even have him in the list tbh.

Yeah Chisora is shot - how much worse does he need to be before getting moved down? Crolla should definitely be higher than Chisora & Eubank Jr imo.

Eubank Jr has an interim title. As bollocks as a title like that is, it still sits him above Liam Walsh and Tony Bellew imo.

Yes, the unsatisfying nature of his world title win meant I didn't re-enter him very high after that victory. He'll move a lot higher next month if he beats Magdaleno next week.
davie wrote:No place for Brian Rose or Rocky Fielding?
Fielding is close to a place, but I didn't think the Vera win was quite enough to enter the list the last time he fought.

Rose exchanging wins with Jones in his last two fights isn't enough for a place on the list at the moment. The quality is too high at the bottom of the rankings.
davie wrote:It will be interesting to see how high a new entry Ovill will be if he wins tomorrow?
I'd think he'd at least have to be higher than Afolabi.

Losing a close fight against Abraham is a lot better than beating Rebrasse.

McDonnell too high, Fury shouldn't be above Selby, Butler beat Hall and is somehow below him, Chisora is too high considering his dire performance at the weekend and Flanagan is far too low, he might not have beaten Zepeda in the way he would have liked but beating Ormond should be enough to have him above several of those above him, especially Warrington who shouldn't really be in the top 30 IMO when you look at the fighters below him.

In Paul Smiths entire 12 year career he doesn't have 1 win better then Rebrasse surely that says it all, losing to an unmotivated and lazy Abraham is nothing to write home about as Rebrasse or any average Euro level guy could have done that. Good top 10 though.

Chisora has looked bad in the past and then gone on to get decent wins.

Chisora is still a consensus top 15 ranked heavyweight and I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Yes, I probably should have moved Crolla higher after his draw against Perez.

If he beats Perez in the rematch next month then I will move him a fair bit up the list.

The title itself isn't worth very much. The guy he beat for it was okay, but clearly far from world class.

Eubank Jr has a very shallow record by the standards of this list and I don't think that he should be any higher at this point.

Paul Smith out. Campbell and AJ too low.

Where will Ovil be on next months list if he wins a world title this weekend?

expe wrote:McDonnell too high, Fury shouldn't be above Selby,
McDonnell has been doing very well recently. I think he deserves his high ranking.

I don't think Selby is as good as most people do.
expe wrote:Butler beat Hall and is somehow below him,
Butler beat Hall very narrowly and then got destroyed by Tete a few months after. Hall did better in his world title fight against Caballero, so I thought he deserved to be higher.

Ormond was a good win, but it wasn't anything special. It was 8 months ago now and a win like that isn't enough to maintain a place in the rankings for long.

Warrinton is a talented fighter with a decent record. It's very competitive at the bottom of the list, but I don't think he looks out of place.

They might have, but they didn't. Smith did, so he gets the kudos.

Campbell and Joshua have only just started fighting opponents that are at domestic level, so I don't think they deserve to be much higher at this point.

They'll probably both be a lot higher in a year's time.
johnswan1 wrote:Where will Ovil be on next months list if he wins a world title this weekend?
That depends on his performance, but he'd probably be around about No. 13.

Fair enough, but I still feel he merits being above some of the guys who rank higher

I'd be tempted to have them somewhere in the lower places of the list, but I neither are stand out candidate.

Agreed, Afolabi at 13 and Bellew at 15 would have to drop a slot to accomodate him

Derry Matthews should be in front of Josh Warrington IMO.
