Ryan Waters vs Dwight Ritchie for Aust middleweight title - Nov 21st
He'll turn 38 next month. Hasn't fought for very nearly 4 years. But on November 21st at the Cronulla Leagues Club, Ryan Waters will pull on the gloves again and challenge Dwight Ritchie for his Australian middleweight title.
I have to admit my first reaction is why?

Re: At 38 and after 4 years out of it - guess who is making a comeback?
According to Graham Shaw :
“I’m very happy with Ryan's training – he is 37 years of age but performing in the gym like a 27-year-old. Things are going very well – I’m enjoying and he is enjoying training and I believe you will see a different Ryan Waters in this November 21 fight. Ryan has still got a lot left in him. He has been sparring with a young middleweight prospect, Mark Lucas. Mark was a real good amateur. We’ve had about five sparring sessions and Ryan is looking good.”

Looks like Ryan Waters' comeback is just for the one fight:
from an article on World of Boxing Fightnews.com by Ray Wheatley:
“Dwight Ritchie is 16-0 as he had four fights that were not recognised by the Combat Sports Boxing Commission and it’s always hard to beat an unbeaten fighter because they don’t know how to lose. I’m only making the comeback for the one fight so I want to give it a good crack and it would be nice to win another Australian title.”
“I was world-rated, but I’m only having the one fight against Dwight Ritchie. I have no plans of challenging Sam Soliman or any other world rated middleweights".
"Having this fight is an itch I need to scratch and there will be a big fight crowd there".

I see it panning out that way too. Comebacks after 4 years out of it are usually for all the wrong reasons and don't turn out well.ClivePatrickLyons wrote:Ritchie will win clearly

Jack is no longer fighting on this card, sorry gents. We announced six weeks out due to a wrist injury sustained against Xing Xin...
We are hoping for Jack to be able to train at 100% by end of this month

Well it went the distance. But the judges had Ryan winning only 1 of the 10 rounds.Justin Brubaker wrote:Ryan will win by KO...
