Good fight and finally a bout for Ortiz against another HW contender.

Ortiz has looked solid but it's hard to tell his level when his opposition has been mediocre, while Jennings is much more tested and of course only fell short against Wlad in a respectable showing. I'm looking forward to seeing how this unfolds.

I honestly have no idea who will win, and that makes it more interesting. :TU:

Ortiz looks very good against soft opposition, but there's no way of knowing how good he really is.

This is the kind of matchup that's good for the heavyweight division and for the sport of boxing.

Great fight. I am picking Ortiz to win and perhaps stop Jennings.

I predict an easy victory for Jennings in about the 7th round

That's a bold move, picking a 36-year-old to be the future of the heavyweight division. I am inclined to say that Evander Holyfield is the future of the heavyweight division. Holyfield might be 53, but I don't think he's really peaked yet.

Hopefully the winner of this fight puts an end the endless Chagaev-Fres Oquendo nonsense.

Jennings has an advantage in hand speed and a huge advantage in quality of opposition.

Ortiz' advantage is the whole Cuban amateur thing. My guess would be a Jennings decision or a Jennings late round stoppage.

There is also a rumor that Ortiz is fighting Ustinov in Russia on the same card with Jones vs Tarver IV. Can be false of course.

Can someone start compiling an archive of everytime chepppaaa makes a bold prediction preceded by the statement "i'm a boxing expert" or the likes.

It would make for hilarious reading, once we see how often he talks utter shite

Hopefully. Ortiz was caught juicing last year and had his fight turned into a NC because of it. They need to start giving the guy caught juicing a loss, in addition to fines and a ban. If it goes late in the fight I think Jennings will get the decision. Ortiz is 36, and with no juice who knows what kind of natural stamina or power he will have.
