Nothing official at all however there's a few things all happening at the same time which point to B0xnati0n HD launching on Virgin Media and Virgin Media Ireland (UPC) in the very near future. UPC, which is now owned by Virgin Media, is Irelands biggest cable TV company. B0xnati0n has never been available to UPC customers.
In a recent Ifilm interview with Fr&nk allegedly he said he was hopeful of doing a deal to have the channel on UPC ahead of BJS vs. Andy Lee this December. If that's true it means the channel (B0xnati0n) has been in talks with Virgin Media recently.
Tommorrow it will be exactly 4 years since Virgin Media confirmed they had agreed a deal with B0xnati0n to carry the channel. This is significant as Virgin Media tend to agree their carriage deals for 4 to 5 years. To the frustration of many Virgin Media customers Virgin tend not to carry new HD channels from the date they launch. Instead they wait for the existing carrage deal to expire and renegotiate new terms to include the HD channel.
Today on Astra satellite, which Virgin uses as the feed for their TV signals, a new channel called B0xnati0n HD has started testing. I added the channel manually to my SKY box to see what it's showing. At the moment it's just a test card with a clock on it. Nothing exciting.
It looks like B0xnati0n and Virgin Media may have agreed a new carriage deal for the channel to broadcast in both the UK and Ireland in HD.
B0xnati0n HD on Virgin Media & Virgin Media Ireland (UPC)?

Doesn't look like it's being shown live, everything that would have been at the top end of the bill is now on other shows and it's off the schedule. Looks like Prince Patel will have to wait for his TV debut.handsofstone wrote:Does anyone know whats going on with Fridays show thats supposed to be on live?

Bummer was looking forward to that although there is a Welsh bill on Eurosport Friday which I can watch instead.expe wrote:Doesn't look like it's being shown live, everything that would have been at the top end of the bill is now on other shows and it's off the schedule. I'd guess a £2 charge per customer as well but that is something I am definitely willing to pay for BN in HD.chad wrote:It looks like B0xnati0n and Virgin Media may have agreed a new carriage deal for the channel to broadcast in both the UK and Ireland in HD.
Bring it on. Thanks for the update Chad
