International Fighter of the Year- Lee Selby
He has the best resume of any featherweight in 2014. In Gradovich and Montiel he beat two top 20 opponents.
Domestic Fighter of the Year- Josh Warrington
As Selby got international fighter of the year I will give this to Warrington. Had a real stellar year with steps up in competition. Tubieron was his first step up followed by Brunker. Great progression and he's one fighter who seems to being promoted perfectly.
Fight of the Year- Dai Davies- Josh Wale
The most important fight in the division this year was the super showdown of Santa Cruz-Mares which had a record viewing figure for PBC.
The reason I have it to Davies-Wale is that is was the best small hall fight I've seen this year. And us British boxing fans love a small hall show.
Upset of the Year- Gary Russell jr- Jhonny Gonzalez
In a division of few major upsets I've gone for this for a couple of reasons. Even though the bookmakers had it 50/50 Gonzalez was riding high still after his Mares win and was considered by some the division number one. Russell Jr had top level doubts following his Lomachenko loss. So considering the manor he destructed Gonzalez it had a upset feel about it.
