crolla world champion- no way
crolla world champion- no way
firstly I really like watching Crolla as he always gives his best and is a gentleman in a hard sport.
He has been in many good domestic fights and has entertained but surely he is not good enough to be a World champion
If he was fighting Luke Campbell I honestly don't think he would win a round
he has never beaten a world class operator and Perez is world class who has
only ever beaten by the great Gamboa..
I think if the rumours are true that Perez was sick the first time and it makes sense to me
tmw Im going to have a grand on Perez wherever I get the best price as I think the bookies have got the odds wrong on this fight.
If Crolla wins ill be the first to email and tell him my story and say fair play to him..
but I see this as the bet of the year and If the real Perez turns up this is an easy nights work????

Re: crolla world champion- no way
Most people did seem to have Crolla winning the 1st fight and he was coming off a pretty rough time too
Re: crolla world champion- no way
I think the OP is bullshitting about his bet, but I've been thinking about backing Perez myself. Crolla is the betting favourite and I don't think he should be.
Also the OP can't say Perez is world class but Crolla isn't when most people thought Crolla won the first fight.

Why BS? I know a couple of guys who never bet anything less than 4 figures. I'll take a bit on Perez... Crolla is my new Ricky Burns. Never rated the guy even when he kept proving me wrong. I think Crolla is European level at best.

Re: crolla world champion- no way
Think it's quite difficult not to like Crolla as a person.
In regard to the first fight, like many I had him up by one or two, and the point deductions just sealed it. He himself has said it wasn't a robbery, just disagreed with the scoring.
I think last time he was running mainly on emotion. This time that's still there, but also knows a lot more about what he has to do to win. I think he'll take it on points.
So he will be champion. A long time champion? Probably not. A couple of easy defences but put him in with Campbell or Flanagan, I think he gets his head taken off. As much as I like Crolla, the likes of those are levels above.

The first fight reminded me of the 1st Smith vs Abraham fight. I think Crolla just edged it but this time i think he will lose comfortably on points. It won't be as easy.
Re: crolla world champion- no way
So basically most people agree with me
people spent a grand going vip ringside to boxing so betting a grand is no big issue
last two big bets I had lost but I'm very sure of this one

Re: crolla world champion- no way
Crolla clearly won the first fight, no reason to think he won't win the second.

I'm assuming you've had better Saturday nights?

Apparently he's not allergic to pepper after all, at least Perez can enjoy his Christmas dinner like the rest of us. ![[icon_e_biggrin.gif] :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)

Fair play mate. Out of curiosity, what's the biggest win you've had?mullenman wrote:Ha ha ha.

Re: crolla world champion- no way
Not a big win in years but massive wins in the past were fury to beat rogan before end of round six
Froch to beat bute
Haye to knock out harrison before round seven
All around even money and all around a grand profit
lost last three bets now though

Unlucky mate. Didn't look a bad bet before, there's always next time.
Re: crolla world champion- no way
Crolla has improved massively.
For some reason people still think in terms of the old Anthony Crolla.

Re: crolla world champion- no way
Well they must be terrible punters because I can never get anywhere near that amount on. I tried to back Canelo to beat Cotto by KO at the weekend and could only manage £200 with VB, £180 with Hills and £100 with Coral. So anybody who never bets anything less than 4 figures must be terrible punters because if they were any use at all their accounts would be closed or restricted at best.Ricky_ wrote:johnswan1 wrote:I think the OP is bullshitting about his bet, but I've been thinking about backing Perez myself. Re: crolla world champion- no way
I thought Crolla all the way before the fight. I think Hearn is a canny operator and got a fairly weak champion, Crolla should have won the first time. I also never really listen to boxer's excuses why they lost - before fights it's always the 'best camp ever' and then if they lose it's 'Oh it all went wrong in camp'.
