Was that suppose to be boxing?
Hahaha glad Wlad lost but my god was that fight horrible to watch.
Both those guys looked horrible.
No kind of fluidity or natural movement with these guys.
Where's all the people that were on Wlads nuts calling him the p4p best?

Re: Was that suppose to be boxing?
A massive fraidy cat headlocking a slob. Woeful.
Re: Was that suppose to be boxing?
It's finally over. The Wlad Era is finally over. Boxing fans have a reason to rejoice today that we can finally bring the division back to worthiness. I'd be surprised to see Fury keep the title for any length of time but at least it's not in Wlad's hands anymore and now maybe we can see some interesting fights happen up high.

Yes, as a spectacle boxing-wise it was shocking, but I take my hat off to Fury for doing something many have failed to do before and I hold my hands up , I thought he would be stopped inside 4
Re: Was that suppose to be boxing?
About as sh*tty as it gets
Re: Was that suppose to be boxing?
It wasn't a masterpiece; it was actually boring as hell.
But tactically, it was brilliant.
They clearly studied Wlad in depth and took huge advantages of all his tendencies.
Played him like a finely tuned instrument, from his cautiousness outside to his habit of holding inside.
Knew him from soup to nuts and had a gameplan that stymied Wlad the entire fight.

Re: Was that suppose to be boxing?
Fury fought exactly the same as most gypsys I've seen fighting, just hit and run and that's all. With his long tentacle arms it worked perfect scoring points. Klitschko should have accepted a punch and then hit him himelf to have a chance. Basically the same way Povetkin fought Wladimir. It's the only way to win against someone with a longer reach. Somehow I have the feeling Klitschko hasn't fought any boxer that was fast and had a longer reach as himself at the same time. In that case you get this.
Re: Was that suppose to be boxing?
Vitaly was always the better boxer. Lewis would have destroyed Wlad.

I have always felt the same.digzee wrote:Vitaly was always the better boxer. Lewis would have destroyed Wlad.
Vitali would be competitive in any era. Wlad, not so much.
Two or three rounds of that crap and Vitali would have cut the ring off,
bent his knees, and looked to trade inside.
He would have walked right thru Fury.

Yup. Wlad hits harder but he's not a fighter.

Re: Was that suppose to be boxing?
I never ever understood people who said Wlad was better than Vitali.
Re: Was that suppose to be boxing?
That was painful to watch. Very very painful.
Re: Was that suppose to be boxing?
Vitali was always the better brother. Look at his results for proof. No one put him down or "beat" him. His 2 "losses" were via injury in fights he was winning. Wlad was beaten decisively numerous times. Vitali never.

Re: Was that suppose to be boxing?
Vitali could have always been better, but he ended up A) quitting against Byrd B) getting stopped by Lewis C) skipping out of the Rahman fight 3-4 times and retired for years. While he was gone, his brother was in full belt collection mode and Vitali played cleanup. The best win of his career was against Tomasz Adamek. Spare me the talk of his greatness.

All I know is that in his prime, Wlad gets KTFO by Ross Purity.zorndeslammes wrote:Vitali could have always been better, but he ended up A) quitting against Byrd B) getting stopped by Lewis C) skipping out of the Rahman fight 3-4 times and retired for years. Few years later, Ross gets into the ring with Vitali and winds up horizontal.
Corrie Sanders makes Wlad do the chicken, then his very next fight gets put to sleep in 2 by Vitali.
Kinda obvious who is the better fighter.

That's all u got on vitali? A torn shoulder and cuts defeat in 2 fights he was winning?
He barely lost a round in his career. Had an iron chin and brut physical strength. He's a greater fighter than Wlad, by a distance.

Re: Was that suppose to be boxing?
Yeah, he lost his two most significant fights. He beat Sam Peter, Tomasz Adamek, Good 'ol Golfin' Corrie Sanders, and an array of bums. He was a commercial flop in the US when matched with Danny Williams on PPV.Ricky_ wrote:zorndeslammes wrote:Vitali could have always been better, but he ended up A) quitting against Byrd B) getting stopped by Lewis C) skipping out of the Rahman fight 3-4 times and retired for years. Then he should have fought Rahman, not disappeared for 4 years, not let his brother take most of the tough fights when he came back, and not quit against Byrd.He barely lost a round in his career. Had an iron chin and brut physical strength. He's a greater fighter than Wlad, by a distance.
