Briggs is after Fury
Briggs is after Fury
Briggs has now shifted his attention to Fury. He's been posting #furybriggs #letsgochamp on Twitter.
Does anybody think Briggs would present any danger at all to Fury if he were to eventually land a fight with him?
What will happen if Briggs starts turning up on traveler sites all over the country demanding that the Gypsy King come out to fight him?

The press conferences would be more entertaining than the fight.

If he doesn't prove himself against the top, or even subtop, or even a top 100 at all, he ain't gonna get it, simple as that.

Re: Briggs is after Fury
I'd pick Hughie Fury to beat Briggs. That would actually be a decent fight for Hughie at this stage of his career.
Briggs can still punch and is durable but slow as eff.

Yeah I can't see him chasing after fury on a surf board or whatever it was like he did with Klitschko - either Tyson, Hughie, Peter or John will fill him in !pimp wrote:I hope he does turn up shouting his mouth off in his gym it will be funny to see what happens

Re: Briggs is after Fury
Briggs vs. Hughie should have been the co-main on saturday night...
Re: Briggs is after Fury
.....should think the sole upside of losing for Wlad is that he's shaken off that window-licking nutter.
Re: Briggs is after Fury
How about instead of trying to get a title shot through Twitter and rants like a person at an insane asylum he earns a title shot the old fashioned way by actually beating a noteworthy contender or at the very least a fringe contender.
He doesn't even fight guys in the Top 50, and he thinks he's worthy of a title shot? Get real

It would be a great undercard fight.Stevieb8006 wrote:I'd like to see thatblack panther wrote:I'd pick Hughie Fury to beat Briggs. That would actually be a decent fight for Hughie at this stage of his career.

I'm glad the thing with Wlad can die. It was so staged. Just pathetic.
That said, Briggs getting a hiding from John Fury and assorted brothers and cousins would be too funny.

Re: Briggs is after Fury
Shannon Briggs might be a relic who was a mediocrity even in his prime but the idea of John Fury, or any of Tyson's relatives, beating him up is absurd. Some car park hard man is not going to make a dent in Briggs, and he certainly isn't going to stand up to his punches.
Re: Briggs is after Fury
Sorry you think it would be in a car park, shirts off and one on one? Of course he could beat any of them in a fair fight. But it wouldn't go like that would it?Tuan_Jim wrote:Shannon Briggs might be a relic who was a mediocrity even in his prime but the idea of John Fury, or any of Tyson's relatives, beating him up is absurd. Re: Briggs is after Fury
I feel sorry for Briggs, I remember him from the Documentary "Welcome to the sewer" as a fresh faced kid who had just turned pro, talking about what titles he would win and how he'd retire young with gazillions in the bank. It's sad. If you haven't seen it, it's on YouTube and well worth a watch.

Re: Briggs is after Fury
I remember the Briggs Vitali fight a few years ago was majorly uncomfortable to watch. He took a complete and utter pounding and I thought we'd seen the last of him that night (I hoped anyway). He would just be fodder for Fury. Most folk are looking forward to a new era in heavyweight boxing and Briggs is part of the old guard.
Re: Briggs is after Fury
I will check that out - I remember one from years ago and Briggs was about 21 and travelling around the USA with his weirdo manager - maybe the same one ?Nightmare Roy wrote:I feel sorry for Briggs, I remember him from the Documentary "Welcome to the sewer" as a fresh faced kid who had just turned pro, talking about what titles he would win and how he'd retire young with gazillions in the bank. Yeah I think it might be the same, it focuses more on his manager.bripez wrote:I will check that out - I remember one from years ago and Briggs was about 21 and travelling around the USA with his weirdo manager - maybe the same one ?Nightmare Roy wrote:I feel sorry for Briggs, I remember him from the Documentary "Welcome to the sewer" as a fresh faced kid who had just turned pro, talking about what titles he would win and how he'd retire young with gazillions in the bank. Re: Briggs is after Fury
Did I read somewhere that Briggs hold the record for first round knockouts? 40 odd of his wins ko1?
Re: Briggs is after Fury
I think Fury deserves a Briggs first defence, say win, it will make him looked good and the trash talk will increase his profile.
Is he worse than Ruiz or Harrison?
