Peter Graham vs Julius Long - WBF title - Feb 27th

Former Australian heavyweight champion Peter Graham will fight New Zealand based American Julius Long for the WBF belt in Darwin on February 27th.

Peter Graham 10-3-1 won the national title in July - after two and a half years out of the boxing ring - beating Benny Edwards on a split decision. Graham has since won a vacant WBO belt in China.

Julius Long 17-19 beat Justin Whitehead a month ago since being KOed by Lucas Browne back in August. Long has basically spent the first half of his 36 fight career winning and the second half losing.

Julius Long was set to fight Willis Meehan on April 16th in Auckland.

Long still has that date listed in Boxrec - but against TBA at the present time.

Peter Graham is the new WBO heavyweight champion after a technical decision win over Julius Long in Darwin last night.

A cut above Graham's eye bought a stop to the fight 5 rounds into the 12-round contest with Graham well ahead on all 3 judges’ cards.

The referee ruled the cut had been caused from an accidental head clash earlier in the fight and on that basis went to the cards in order to decide the winner.
