Someone ought to be criminally prosecuted for allowing a 42 year old man, who hasn't fought in over a decade, a license without proving he can still compete first. Where are the MRI results? Where are the sparring videos to gauge his abilities? Where are the psychiatric evaluations?.... I'm telling you that this man will fall flat on his face (eventually) just like Bert Cooper, Razor Ruddock and Jose Ribalta in recent years in their comebacks. It's a disgrace to the sport. We have enough issue and controversies without adding some has been, never was, to return to the ring to ultimately fail. George Foreman was the EXCEPTION, not the rule. Shame on Bob Arum and anyone else who is allowing this to happen.

Apart from possibly hard core supporters on a boxing forum I don't think so.

Let's not be romantic, Tyson was a very bad dude from a young age.

Was going to mention foreman as exception not the rule. And i do agree theres always a risk in boxing, which can be heightened ....

However.

Providing he passes relevant medicals and MRI scan, which he will have to if he hasnt already, i dont have an issue with it. Im sure there are worse fighters out there competing who are much younger, and a lot of guys who are 42 + still fighting who are worse.

Most importantly for Ike, he has to earn money somehow. Doubt he has a bulging bank balance and, well, would you employ him!!!

Exactly. I think he'd have been a serious threat to everyone but Lewis in '99, even Holyfield, and if he's fit and focused now, he's not that old for a current heavyweight.

We talk about Haye's renewed potential in mind of Klitschko's apparent slide, but if Ibeabuchi has any kind of speed left (supposing he still has his chin and power), he'd be all wrong for Haye.

He's been in the slammer for a good few years. Irrespective of his physical gifts and skill level, prison is not an environment to hone these skills and for boxing talent to flourish.
