I remember his getting a lot of hype early in his pro career... cause he was being fast tracked
But it was all just hype, he's almost forgotten about now
Shumenov turned out to be a joke
Re: Shumenov turned out to be a joke
Didn't he train himself? He's done well considering he fights like a bad kung fu fighter

That's the equivalent of making japan's best fighter ''above super featherweight for years'' looking like a clueless idiotBoxing Prospect wrote:Well...he did just make "America's best Cruiser for years " look like a clueless idiot...

Shumenov looked like a clueless idiot in that fight too, plus a scared one in addition. He has always been a joke buying a WBA title and not defending it against anybody with a pulse until being spanked by BHop.Boxing Prospect wrote:Well...he did just make "America's best Cruiser for years " look like a clueless idiot...

How anyone can take Shumenov's side ever after the Campillo fights is beyond my ken.

The part that confuses me about this thread is "I remember him getting a lot of hype early in his career"...really? I don't, and I was following the sport his entire career. I don't remember him ever getting much hype.

He was getting hype trust me, people get carried away when a fighter fights for a world title in under 10 fightsThe Revival wrote:The part that confuses me about this thread is "I remember him getting a lot of hype early in his career"...really?
