Barry forgot yesterday more boxing knowledge than you will know in 3 lifetimes.

You are probably a Bob Sheridan fan, or Andy Raymond is more your style. When was your last commentary job.
Who is your favourite commentator ? Don't tell me, let me guess Your a Ray Hadley fan.

I had a (online) chat with him a few months back. He's friends with a very good mate of mine from Melbourne - who does a lot of MCing for wrestling and a little for boxing.

I told him I was at Windsor that night & we had a natter about those days. He promised to send me a dvd of his fights.

Never happened

Al Bernstein is my favorite actually. Barry Michael is a extremely biased commentator.

Al Bernstein the Mr. Nice Guy of commentators. Hardly ever gives a prediction or commentry round by round. More known as an analyst
who will give a post fight summary of what you just watched in case your too stupid to figure it out yourself. Never laced a glove or had a belt strapped around him. Often surrounds himself with atg trainers or former world champions.
Can't really recall the last time i heard him give a rbr.
Michael has been involved in the industry most of his life, world champion, trainer, promoter and part time commentator. Always offers an opinion when asked and sometimes that opinion is not what a lot of people want to hear and thats the reason for your ill informed comment i suspect.
Thats a big statement "Worst commentator in the world". Coming from Franky i can understand seeing as he can write his entire boxing knowledge on the back of a postage stamp.

Very good fighter terrible what that maggot Gangitano did to him. Not a very neutral commentator though too biased(especially to Mundine).

Stiff, post the Extremely Bias Michael commentary, was it when he said Chocs gone in the round before the Ottke KO.
How about when he said he can't believe Mundine fighting Solimon so early and predicted a Solimon win.
How about when he said Mundine gave Green a boxing lesson. ( thats the one that hurt a lot of people).
Was it when he said Geale won easily in Geale v Mundine 2.
Was it when Mundine stopped Solimon and Barry said that should end that controversy.

You must be either a relative/mate/neighbour etc of Barry Michael because quite frankly he is an awful boxing commentator and incredibly biased.

Personally as far as boxing goes I would say someone like Al Bernstein or Paulie malignaggi are excellent commentators/colour commentators for a boxing broadcast.

He is probably not as bad now because Mundiine is shot but back in the day he was biased. But of course that's only my opinion.

Few have contributed more to Australian boxing over the past 40 years than Barry Michael.

Michael has certainly been guilty of being a big Mundine fan. There's no question of that.

But Michael has also called Mundine how most of us saw him a number of times too, and the Mundines didn't take too kindly too it. In fact they went to the trouble of having Michael removed from calling one of Anthony's fights because of it, and the message couldn't have been plainer to Barry. Get back on the Mundine train or we'll ensure you don't call his fights.

It's 'Bazza', Mugabe, you farking soap dodging pom, any how, Rocky was a yank, not a pom, and Bazza hadn't yet recovoured from his flogging at the hands of the Melbourne underworld. You do know that Bazza wasn't dropped in that fight and retired on his feet, yeah?

Oh, Mugabe, be a sweetheart and ask Frank Wazza when my mate, Bazza, will be paid for that fight? Also run the concept of compounding interest by him, yeah? Thanks so very much Mugabe.

Along with jeff Harding one of my favourite all time fighters and one who I think doesn't get the recognition he deserves. Can't remember a boring match. Whilst I don't know him on a personal basis I have met and spoken to him several times and he appears to be a great bloke. Always willing to chat and instil his vast knowledge of the fight game on others - true champ

I think it was the day after the Frank Ropis fight that Barry was reading out donations for the Ash Wednesday bushfires. He read out Frank's donation :OhYes: . Hell of a coincidence or a nice setup? :TU:
