I would give myself a 9. this board overall a 6. there are some boxing experts on this board, who make sense and have amazing knowledge about boxing, but so many people out here bring the quality down, like "wlad is p4p the best boxer in the world" or "fury is the best heavyweight boxer in the world cause he beat wlad" or "chavez is the best super lightweight ever", but lost to taylor and pernell and somebody like floyd, who can box defence like pernell and is similar as quick as meldrick isnt considered best super light weight, while it is obvious chavez wouldnt catch the guy 12 rounds long and probably lose every single round.

You forget, we have seen your posts.

You rate a 2 at best.
The board overall, since I only read a fraction of the threads, I don't know where to rate this boxing board.
Unlike many other forums this one is good enough for me to keep reading it.

On an average, I would rank the expertise on this board a 7 or 8.

I rate myself a 7.

You're confusing peoples' opinions on hypothetical issues with knowledge.

Opinions & knowledge are two separate things.

Generally most on here are fairly knowledgeable but hugely opinionated, that's where most of the trouble comes in.

There is a core of very knowledgable members here which is nice to chat with from time to time. Would def be great to have a stronger concentration of hardcore boxing fans. That's why i started a private forum to get as most knowledgable fans as possible in one house.

A lot of people are clued up with the politics of boxing on here,i can keep track of the political side of things in the UK but the US is harder to keep up with

A lot of knowlegable and passionate posters on here but too many people on CS get hung up on bitching with each other on a day to day basis when they should save that passion for what happens between the ropes

In honesty I prefer the British and Irish forum as there seems to be a long running series of grudges and spats on Current Scene. I used to be really into boxing around 20 years ago and considered myself well read and pretty knowledgeable. These days I'd say I'm a 6, the knowledge and expertise of some on BoxRec is a 10 and most of say are a 7 though some of those at 8 or 9 let themselves down slating other posters and scoring points. I used to go on East side Boxing around 10 -12 years ago and enjoyed it but the knowledge on here is far superior.

As soon as someone uses the word 'Ducking' you know they are pretty clueless straight away. Fighters will fight anyone, fights don't get made because of politics. The handlers of fighters know the value of fights now or later and some fights are better left for later.

What you need to factor in is that professional boxing is about making the most money for the least risk and that is very often not the best for fans. Some people understand, some don't but it is the sign of a charlie.

Some people are so biased that they can't think straight. IE. "John Ruiz is more accomplished than Wlad."

Same problem with political debates. Otherwise smart people will say stupid things like "Obama OR Trump are dumb." No they're not, you just don't like one of them.

My knowledge of HWs is pretty good. On other divisions, I'm just so-so. I try really hard not to talk about areas where I know little.

Yup. I try hard not to get in pissing contests. One poster here, who has posted under several names, has some of the stupidest posts I've ever read. At other times, he is relatively sensible. I try to take it post by post and not get carried away with the personality of the poster. Often I exchange insults with a poster on one day, and agree with him wholeheartedly another day on a different matter, and that's the way it should be.

There you are buddy! Not hurt at all; once again not even a Vit fan. Was just trying to think of a dumb comment and yours simply was the most recent. Like I said in my recent post, no problem agreeing with you wholeheartedly on another matter. :TU:

And it is a fine site you run. :TU:

Though there are less members over there, the quality of content is higher than here. You are probably one of the, if not, the most hardcore real boxing fan I've ran into on the forums. :salut:

You didn't even remember the actual quote and were unable to refute it at the time. Just resorted to making things up. You're probably a solid 2 though. :TU:

Wasn't the actual quote "Ruiz is more accomplished than Vit?' Don't just utilize me as your lone source, ask around...

Yes, it's arguable but I firmly stand by it. You said Wlad here or I wouldn't even have commented.

It's certainly possible I mistakenly wrote Wlad instead Vit or visa versa. Let's just agree upon saying "Ruiz being more accomplished than either Vit or Wlad" is a highly unusual opinion.

I never really grade myself in all honesty. I just enjoy the debates on here and I be as fair as I can on my assessments of the match ups that are occurring and what we want to see happen?

I would have to say I am above average, so a 6 or 7. There are several posters on here that definitely know more than me, and I don't mind admitting that. I appreciate it really, because I like learning more about the sport. I really try to not get into pissing contests, unless pissed on first.
I do think I am one of the best spellers on the board though. :OhYes:
