He was a little too cocky early in his career and ended up in trouble, almost getting stopped, having to survive till the final bell.

He was a changed fighter after that not pushing things, not getting impatient and displaying his superior skills.

He has a very effective hook he can throw to the head and body in combo.

Also has a good jab and a good straight right.

The kid is talented... So far he has been down a few times but always figures out a way to win.

At top level he is not the biggest puncher but he has quick hands and often overwhelms fighters with his speed and cumulative pop.

I really like Asberry. I think he is a promising USA Heavyweight prospect that is under the radar right now.

He needs polishing but from what i saw from him, each time, i see glimpse of rare natural talent and very good natural skills.

Now of course he's only 21 and has plenty of time to improve his opposition, but that is one padded 28-0.

he has the skills to back it up, he is still very young. I won't criticize a young prospect that is kept busy which he is... one of the busiest USA prospect. He has some decent wins too for his level considering he's been boxing for less than 5 years.

Asbery needs to up the opposition.

Good Composure, nice timing, nice modulation of power. Showed some good defensive movement and some nice offensive sequence. Woods was aggressive in short sequences and Asberry remained composed under pressure and retaliated with his superior skills without getting wild.

Really look forward to see how this under the radar USA prospect will perfect his art!

Heavyweights are normally late bloomers. Some guys progress more quickly than others, pick up skills and tricks faster. Joe Frazier was a fast learner. Johansson was only 16-0 when he fought Henry Cooper for the EBU title in '57. Patterson had 30 fights before he met Archie Moore for the world title. Marciano was 42-0 before he fought Jersey Joe Walcott the first time. These were champions. The elite of their age. Other heavyweights took longer to perfect their game. Nowadays casual fans expect a guy to fight a top ten contender or the champ himself after 14 or 15 fights. Heaven help him if he loses! One or two losses these days condemns a guy to the scrap heap.
