I think he's not very well and hope he gets help.
Re: Bruno return
Just read about it. If he gets a license I will not watch boxing ever again.
He has probably watched Grudge Match with Stallone and De Niro and thought it was a documentary...therefore thinking he has a chance. He is not well at all and there will be a public outcry if they allow him to get back in the ring.

Re: Bruno return
Absolutely bonkers (not Bruno, his idea of returning to the ring)!
I sincerely hope he can't get licensed.

He was doing pads at Hatton's gym so the other day so it's maybe started from then. He looked nothing like Nigel Benn did when he was on them recently, either...

Re: Bruno return
If Bruno gets a licence by any governing body then boxing should be banned, and I would change my opinion on the sport. I would have to say it would be a worrying time if anyone thinks Bruno is capable of boxing at any level. The BBBoC would never issue Frank with a licence but im sure there would be some governing body that would, only have to look at Danny Williams on that score.
Frank will never be a 'normal' person mentally again, and should never be allowed near a ring. If he wants to be involved in boxing I would suggest finding a few raw amateurs he could work with and bring them forward and progress.
It would be a very sad time if Bruno was seen boxing pro again, however people are very fickle and would still fill a house to see him fight.

He looked in great shape but awful on the pads. Bruno needs to be kept away from the ring.mickey1975 wrote:He was doing pads at Hatton's gym so the other day so it's maybe started from then. He looked nothing like Nigel Benn did when he was on them recently, either...

Re: Bruno return
Surely won't get licensed by anyone. Given Mark Prince's struggles to get licensed, it would be incredible if Bruno got one. Just hope the governing bodies show some common sense. I know that's a big ask though!

Just been reading about this (admittedly on the Mail Online, so not sure of the accuracy), apparently Bruno's interview was 'manic' & the BBBC have already said they won't licence him.

Can't believe that there is even a chance of him getting a license. He isn't well and at 54 years of age... errr.. he'd be worse than Danny Williams. Mentions Joshua!

Yes, I was amazed. He looked like a body builder with no bouts. I thought it could be the medication.reggaereggae wrote:He looked in great shape but awful on the pads. Re: Bruno return
Knowing this sport, I wouldn't be surprised if he got lined up to face Joshua on PPV.
Hope he doesn't get a license, of course.

Not in a million years

I hope and pray that this is a step too far even for them...mickey1975 wrote:Even Malta wouldn't do this...
Re: Bruno return
can see Bruno ending up fighting on the unlicenced circuit
Re: Bruno return
He must need money. That's why most older, once decent boxers return plus their egos. A few rounds of good sparring can change that.
Re: Bruno return
I really wouldn't put it past them, they licensed a 59 year old before Christmas. If it wasn't for the negative publicity it would bring I think they would seriously consider licensing him.milpool wrote:I hope and pray that this is a step too far even for them...mickey1975 wrote:Even Malta wouldn't do this...

Re: Bruno return
Hope frank doesn't get a license - madness a 54 year old man retired nearly 20 years wanting to fight again.
Re: Bruno return
He won't get a BBBoC Licence - Even if his mental health was A okay, remember he retired on medical grounds with his eyes.
Seeing him on the pads with Ricky, he cannot do it anymore.

Re: Bruno return
Ive mentioned before that I saw him just over a year ago doing "an evening with" style event and he really didn't look right.
Re: Bruno return
To be honest, see Bruno on the pads with Ricky - it would be hard for any coach to allow him to Spar. He is a true British boxing hero - it would be sad to see him spar.JMac wrote:He must need money. Nigel Benn is a completely different case. Nigel looks like he could give some pro a real fight.
