Time it takes to get in Fight Shape?

Post by Justin »

How short of a notice do you guys take for smokers or small shows? I got an offer to fight July 31st, I've never taken one on this short of notice. Enough time to get in good enough shape?

alot of our fighters only get about 2 weeks notice, so 3 weeks isn't that short if your in shape already.

I'm in decent shape, running 2.5-3 miles about 4 times per week. Working the heavybag and the normal gym routine about 5 days out of the week. I've fought before, but not for about a year.

by you asking this to a forum, I would probably say no your not ready. when was the last time you were in the ring sparring? you don't only need to be in good phyiscal shape but in boxing shape also..

true, if you can spar 6 rounds you should be able to fight in an amatuer fight easily.

best thing is to stay in shape year round. that way, when an opportunity comes up, you have less to do to get ready and can coast into the fight.
