He may move a bit if he fights someone with a winning record. Search the forums, there are hundreds of topics on rankings here.

Kelly,

there is a simple explanation for this:

yes, Gary won his last bouts - but *only by points* over very low rated boxers compared with his level.

Gary had about 1220 points and his last two opponents had 753 and 718 at that time.

Boxrec ratings will punish the winner in this situation - because the result is not enough to hold the rating difference between winner and loser. This is a relative loss for the winner. He had to KO or TKO or TD these opponents.

The only real way to raise is to win against comparable opponents - at least they must no be rated too much lower.

Look at the developments of Gary's rating:

ratings are decreasing between two fights for all boxers

Gary after fight - opponent after fight - Gary before - opponent before - difference

1210.4 756.5 1213.6 753.3 -3.2
1216.6 722.2 1220.6 718.3 -4.0
1221.5 729.6 1201.1 749.9 +21.4
1205.4 739.1 1178.5 766.0 +26.9
1179.9 710.5 1182.3 708.2 -2.4
1186.5 696.0 1190.2 692.3 -3.7
1194.7 880.8 1138.6 936.9 +56.1
1144.3 887.8 1110.5 921.6 +33.9
1116.0 822.7 1057.6 881.2 +48.4
1060.8 779.4 1000.0 840.1 +60.8

Hope this helps
Martin
