The two most feared boxers in the world are systematically clearing out their respective divisions at roughly the same pace. Kovalev has a bit more fish stocked in his pond but they should both finish clearing out their divisions around the same time. Once this happens, and it will happen, both guys will be coming off successful PPV paydays and increased notoriety. With wins over Ward and Canelo in their pockets and a new legion of fans accumulating, how long before this becomes THE FIGHT the world needs to see? How long before it's the first question asked of both guys in every interview? How long before the boxing world is addicted to this fight?
Right now, neither guy has proven they can carry a PPV event yet. If this fight is to happen, one or maybe both of these guys need to be able to carry a strong gate and PPV numbers. If that never happens then we won't see the fight. But i feel that they're on their way.
Kovalev 6'0" 175lbs 72.5" reach
GGG 5'10" 160lbs 70" reach
Tell me why this fight can't happen in a couple of years at 168 or 170? Then explain who you think would win this fight and how?
If you never think the fight will happen, why not?

Re: GGG vs Kovalev Will Happen
This would be a dream matchup & if it did happen I would lean towards Kovalev due to size, as he appears to be much bigger.
Golovokin is a wiry middleweight that looks like he could easily go down in weight as opposed to up.

Kovalev and Ward will happen if Stevenson doesn't come first for either one.
GGG can go down to 154 or up to 168 but not 175. This fight should not happen. There are not enough good fighters out there to headline. When Mosley and De la Hoya fought it hurt both of them because they were the best two fighters around.

Why is it boxing fans keep proposing these outlandish catchweights??
With the exception of DeLa Hoya how many of these 'meet in the middle' matchups can you name?
It doesn't happen because fighters are professionals already operating on a very strict weight management orogram for their body types and respective divisions.
