Why didnt Carr defend his WBF title he won against Dingaan Thobela?

sorry i meant after that fight. He was already the champ. He fought twice after Thobela a 6 rounder and a 4 rounder. Was he stripped of the WBF belt at some point.

Going back a long time that Mimmy but as I recall; Carr won the WBF title beating Steve Foster and made his first defence against Thobela. There was talk of him defending against Hacine Cherif but he suffered a serious hand injury and was inactive for over a year before having the 4 and 6 rounders you mention.

As for the 'title' not sure if he was stripped or if he vacated.

Yeah Carr retired due to recurring hand injuries. Shame as only 31 and decent boxer, gave Collins a hard fight in 95 and good win against James Cook as well. He was originally from my neck of the woods in Teesside, think he lives in Bournemouth now.
