Juergen Braehmer vs Eduard Gutknecht 2

Post by handsofstone »

Rematch is on Sky Sports this saturday incase anyone didnt know and might prefer this too Terry/Derry :box:

Yet another outstanding opponent for Braehmer,he beat Gutknecht a few years ago to take his European title,i remember it being an awful fight where Juergen kept throwing himself to the canvas, just awful it was,i like Braehmer and i rate him which frustrates me even more to see him fight guys like this,Gutknecht hasnt a notable win since the 1st fight and also got KO'd from Sukhotsky so another foregone conclusion for Juergen the German

Maybe next time we might see him in with a live opponent

Braehmer

No surprise that he fell 'sick' and was 'injured' before the Shumenov and Clev fights respectively. A live opponent is simply too much for him!

I just noticed tonight that this was being shown on Saturday. Will probably record it and watch after the Liverpool card.

Braehmer is terrible to watch, keep hoping to see him knocked out but it's unlikely whilst he faces this level of opposition.

Surprised they were able to get a fight of this magnitude without PPV money.

In all serious it's going to be a twelve round borefest with Braehmer winning around the 118-110 mark.

Yeah it's going to be proper grim. I'll be watching the BN bill. Don't know if I'll even bother watching a repeat of this tbh. I'll read the fight report and if by some outside chance it ends up a decent fight I may have a look. I'm glad there is another bill on at the same time or I would be forced to watch live and even the thought of that makes me pretty sad. I'd need to buy 16 Saturday cans instead of my usual 8!

Could be exciting if he wanted to be, great left hand but chooses to prod his way through fights regardless of opposition.
Really hope Eddie offers him a good lump for retirement to fight Clev over here.
Clev outworks him and has the whiskers to take the odd left hand.

Clev is really frustrating to me and must be the same for his trainers. He has great ability but always wants to play the hard card and go for it. He's a clever man so the lack of discipline is frustrating. He performed admirably against Fonfara but came up short. I think he could've made that an easier fight with the ability that he has.

Without the nose going I thought he'd of won.

If he could stick to a gameplan he'd be hard to beat due to his variety and the fact he can box or fight.
He really played too Fonfaras strengths making it a close quarters slug fest.

Yeah without a doubt mate. Both tough guys but Clev is far more skilled.

Braehmer leads a charmed, sedate and well-paid life...when he's not in the back of a police car or doing bird.
Half-wish Krusher would just accept a pay cut and come over to Europe and terminate the whole farce for the good of boxing.
Watching Braehmer getting launched into row Z is something I would pay to see.

See i dont understand that myself. I've never seen Cleverly as a slick boxer. He's always been a guy that likes to mix it up.

The prick lost to Mario Veit and Hugo Garay completely clowned him (then losing to Campillo straight after)

He's barely Euro class and hasn't had a meaningful fight in his entire sad career. He should really be fighting Clev instead of Gut Stick.

116-111 Braehmer for me,some effort from Gutnkecht though he's 1 tough bastard,it was a good fight with too much spoiling from Juergen and Eduard wasnt clever enough to deal with it,both landed their fair share

Agreed. Same old stuff every fight. He got by on his strength and workrate, punch resistance and accumulation of punches. His strategy was usually always wear the opponent down under a high guard. His "boxing" in the second Bellew fight was dismal.

Yeah. I'm baffled how some people think he doesnt box to his potential?! When has he ever been a slick boxer?! Lol.

Is Braehmer the most irrelevant 'world champion' in boxing today? I genuinely don't know anyone who rates or likes him.
