Terrible by Rigo's team...

As if the guy wasn't hard enough to get a fight for in the first place, I think the idea of him getting a decent money fight is totally dead now.

Very, very poor from Rigo.

Luckily it should still be a good night of boxing. And tbh, after Rigo's last performance which was absolutely garbage, I'm not even that bothered he won't be fighting.

Doesn't even seem like this is his team, other than Pedro Diaz. They were sorting out the visa then Rigo and Diaz fucked off back to Miami for some reason.

This one isn't Warrens fault - although very unfortunate these messes always seem to happen to him.

Rigo and his team are inept and the dude will likely retire without securing a real big payday which is a shame considering his talent.
No fans hardcore or not will demand or try to pressure Frampton to prove he's the best at the weight and fight this guy after this joke so Carl will be free to fight Wake without question or hopefully LSC/Donaire. I doubt TR would put Lomachenko or Walters in with him either etc - it could really be over for Rigo.

He doesn't even want Frampton or Quigg does he?

He's happy to rot away in Palookaville.

Hurry up and retire, you bum! Waste of talent clown.

sounds like rigo just couldnt be arsed an had no intention of fighting, unless he has been offered a better deal elsewhere and has dropped this fight to take it.

i really like rigo but like his old manager hyde said hes got too many hangers on and advisors talking shit to him, and he overestimates his own value. now with this carry on whos gonna take him and his team seriously, hes just given team frampton the perfect excuse not to do business with them, and you cant blame them now, way too much of a risk. imagine selling out the odosy in belfast with fram v rigo main event and then something like this happens. team rigo need to cop the fuk on or hell just be remembered as a wasted talent :bag: (apart from 2 gold medals and being world champ, so not too wasted ha)

Is anyone that bothered? It's a fight that simply should never have been on anyway.

Very poor show from Rigo and does himself absolutely no favours for trying to secure a big fight in future. Whilst the fight with Dickens was hardly going to be competitive it raised his profile in the UK and increased the pressure on Frampton to prove himself to be the best in the division and set up a super fight.

Unfortunately now he has just given McGuigan another solid excuse not to do business with him. Moron.

You've gotta feel sorry for Jazza. You could tell he was pretty excited about facing Rigondeux.
Poor show from the Cuban.

I think it is quite possible that they never bothered to apply for the visa, realised they would run out of time, then fucked off back home without telling anyone why. Amateurs, eh?

Really feel for Dickens and his fans. Rigo has shot himself in the foot here and can wave bye bye to any aspirations he had of facing Frampton or Quigg.

Just watched a thing on BN about Jazza. It was a half hour interview with Steve Lillis. Comes across a grounded, sensible guy. Likeable character. Feel even more for the guy now. Hopefully FW can get him a big fight to make up for this let down.

I've read earlier that he's still going to be on the bill in a tick over but that he should be fighting for the European title against Medina in Liverpool sometime in June.

There was a good tv documentary a few years ago about amateur boxers in Liverpool and Dickens was one of the lads (cant think of the name of the programme).

Dickens came across as a good lad and I have rooted for him ever since. He had a tough upbringing - the interview with his dad where he was on about watching his young son fighting in the street was very difficult, I still don't know if he was right or wrong given the environment in which they lived.

He touched on the subject of his parents a couple of times during that show. What was the deal with them?
