Lucas Browne - Eff You
Lucas Browne - Eff You
So I need Chagaev to beat Browne to close out a huge parlay. Worth several thousand. Browne beats him.
And Browne fails the drug test. Seriously - f*ck you, Lucas Browne. Career low weight and looked in the best shape of his life. Now we know why. Scumbag.

I was very surprised to hear about this. From what I understand, the substance he took is used to increase stamina and breathing. It's a shame. Vada conducted the testing and they are very reliable.
Re: Lucas Browne - Eff You
Too me its yet another example of bullshit. Instead of a no contest, it needs to be a loss for the cheater, and a win for the guy that follows the rules.

Cheating doesn't mean you're going to win.
It could turn out that the only "benefit" is being able to absorb more of a beating in a loss.
De La Hoya had two opponents who actually failed their drug tests..............both took a beating and got knocked out.
Re: Lucas Browne - Eff You
Plus it'd give more incentive to drug opponents.

I suppose you think what you just posted is somewhat logical? Of course cheating doesn't mean you are going to win. You miss the entire point. If you cheat, you lose. You get a "L" or a "DQ" instead of a "NC". David Price is a good example of a guy that was KO'd twice by cheaters. Would he have won anyway if his opponents didn't cheat? That's not the point. Cheaters need to be punished every way possible. Make them forfeit their entire purse as well, ban them for life when caught a second time. All the BS slaps on the wrist is stupid. If that is all they are going to do, open it up so its a free-for-all. Make it a level playing field one way or another.
Re: Lucas Browne - Eff You
You can't give a guy a free win. They're starting to do this stupid crap in MMA. It's ridiculous.
I couldn't care less if a baseball or basketball player juices... but in combat sports, it's pretty unacceptable.

If you are so hell bent of banning cheaters let's see cry "ban them" every single time a punch goes below the belt or to the back of the head.
Cheating is cheating period.
Anybody that's willing to look past low blows, head-butts and rabbit punches should not be saying anything about drug use.
People go out of their minds over PED's that may not give any advantage at all but overlook activities that pose an actual and immediate danger to their opponent that they can't really do anything about.

There are obviously different levels of cheating, and the dangers they pose, except to you. No sense discussing it anymore since you look at a rabbit punch as the same as someone on HGH or loading their gloves.

So for those of you who don't know what clenbuterol is, it's basically an asthma medication for horses. In humans it fires up your CNS, raises your internal body temp (along with breathing rate, blood pressure, etc) and basically melts the body fat off of you. I think Erik Morales got busted for it some years back.
It's bad stuff for your heart (had a buddy die at 24 from this crap), but it's "performance enhancement" properties are vastly outweighed by it's negative effects. In fact increasing blood pressure and breathing rate would actually hurt your performance. It's a bodybuilding drug, and athletes who use it for anything other than fat loss are misguided.
Big Daddy hopped on clen to lose fat. I honestly think it's no big deal, but then I'm for the legalization of PED's anyway. Since there are rules in place I guess a short ban, no contest, and immediate rematch are in order.
At least we don't have to watch Fres fight again for a while.

Other than the sprinter Katrin Krabbe, I've never heard of anyone but body builders use Clen. In hindsight it makes perfect sense looking at Browne in that fight.punchoutsb wrote:So for those of you who don't know what clenbuterol is, it's basically an asthma medication for horses. It can give you a big initial energy spike, but that fades quickly. I'm a strength athlete and a former bodybuilder. I've remained natural but I've been around a lot of people who aren't. I've never known anyone that could run up a flight of steps without feeling like they were going to have a heart attack on clen.hhaehre wrote:Other than the sprinter Katrin Krabbe, I've never heard of anyone but body builders use Clen. A friend of mine was on it years ago and he was sweating like a pig but he did lose body fat. Didn't make him any stronger, did the opposite actually but he felt he looked better and more defined. Had all kinds if side effects I seem to remember.punchoutsb wrote:It can give you a big initial energy spike, but that fades quickly. I'm a strength athlete and a former bodybuilder. It's absolute crap health wise. But it is VERY effective for burning fat.hhaehre wrote:A friend of mine was on it years ago and he was sweating like a pig but he did lose body fat. Re: Lucas Browne - Eff You
I guess we have to remember that the banned drugs are not only banned as an unfair advantage for the user, but also to protect their health. For that reason alone it would be foolish to legalize all PEDS.
Browne does have the option to have a second sample tested - at his own expense.

Personally I think drug cheaters should have every prior fight turned into a no contest and be given a lifetime ban.
Giving them a short ban and overturning one fight isn't good enough. Stamp it out by destroying their past record.

Then what is this going to? Next time you allow them to kick once or twice and after that you allow them to use a stick and eventually you allow them to take a gun with them or something?man wrote:well spoken, sir.Badhusker wrote:All the BS slaps on the wrist is stupid. Sorry, but cheating is cheating and if you get caught you deserve to be punished.

What I put in bold is a bunch of crap. There are different levels of everything. You can't compare a shot a second after the bell to loaded gloves. You can't compare PED use to holding when you're hurt, which is technically also cheating. You can't compare speeding to purposely hitting someone with your car. This "If it's illegal, it's illegal" philosophy is just plain stupid.

Clen sucks, but the ill health effects of many PED's are overstated. Most problems stem from uneducated use, not the compounds themselves. Professional sports (times 1,000 for combat sports) are not healthy ventures.Badhusker wrote:I guess we have to remember that the banned drugs are not only banned as an unfair advantage for the user, but also to protect their health. In the UK, you'd have already been paid out and your winnings would not be recoverable by the bookmaker even if the result was reversed as they almost all have a rule where unless the result is reversed within 48 hours it stands regardless. Not sure on the rules in the States though. You may still be ok.diddy wrote:So I need Chagaev to beat Browne to close out a huge parlay. Worth several thousand. Browne beats him.
