Tyson Fury's top 5 Heavies of all time

Post by Monte Fisto »

Excluding himself, In no particular order:

Ali
Michael Spinks
Larry Holmes
Lennox Lewis
George Foreman

I love hearing fighters picks. Shocked Joe Louis isn't in there though. Fury seems to know his boxing.

Each to their own & all that, but I'd love to know what his rationale was for picking Michael Spinks?

Not watched the video yet, but maybe it's because he really rates Larry Holmes.

I thinking putting him in a two is going way ott but getting one rounded by Tyson doesn't tell the whole tale, even if it is the sbiding memory of him for most. Anyone csn get clipped.

Spinks was a great fighter, no doubt; top 5 LHW of all-time for me, but he wasn't a great HW.

He hardly had any fights at HW for starters & was totally destroyed in the biggest fight he ever had at the weight.

The video as a whole is an interesting window into the mind of Tyson Fury.

Interesting he picked Lewis given their thing, I wonder if he's seen this.

His career at HW was pretty amazing really: getting the decision over homes twice and stopping the much bigger Cooney. But, as you say, it was only a handful of fights.

Hmm, hardly an encyclopedic knowledge of former heavyweights, considering his bold claims.

Him and Lennox are mates now, they seemed to spend a few days together in NY when Tyson and Highie went out for the Wilder fight.

I'm surprised Hughie Fury wasn't there..... and whilst Michael Spinks was a great fighter, as a heavyweight? Really? Maybe the Steffen Tangstad fight swayed him

Spinks? Utter nonsense from fury there! Tyson blitzed him. My top 5 would be Ali Holmes Lewis klitschko x 2

I'd struggle to find a place for the klits. Although their utter dominance was impressive.

Holyfield tends to get overlooked when heavyset are discussed.

I think fury was a fan of spinx skills rather than his (heavyweight) achievements.
